My son slept beautifully and was a model baby, 12 hours a night and an hour or so during the day. My daughter, however, slept for around 7-8 hours a night and has a 1/2 hour every once in a while - it's still happening and she's three now.
They're all different and we've tried everything - loads of outdoor exercise, swimming, late nights, reading, books, baths before bedtime - she just doesn't need sleep

You lucky thing. My son slept on average 3/5 hours a night. Had a 10/15 min nap in morning and same in the afternoon. This went onto til he was about 18 months when he stopped sleeping in the day and slept about 6 hours in night. Hes 15 now but cant get him out of bed these days.

My son is 19 months old. He is the youngest of three boys. All of my boys slept at least 12 hours at night and then took a nap every afternoon for at least 2 hours! My older two sons are 8 and 12 and they are still great sleepers. Babies at this age are so active and busy - they need all the sleep they can get!
I would say that the amount of time your daughter sleeps is very average and you should consider yourself lucky! Enjoy it while you can because sleep habits can change at the drop of a dime at this age!

you are soooo lucky. my little angel only started sleeping through at night when he was 17 1/2 months old , he was awke at least 4 times a night and took about 15 mins to get to sleep againg each time. he never slept any longer than 3 hours at a time. now he's nearly 20 months and sleeps from 10pm to 8 am at the most and sometimes has a nap for an hour, any longer than that he'll be up til midnight at least!!! but i love him so much it hurts!!!

Yep, average. My 20 month old (18 months adjusted due to prematurity) sleeps from 8:00p.m. - 9:00a.m. and takes one 2 - 3 hour nap in the afternoon. Remember, the more that your child sleeps, the more that they are growing!

my 3 and a half year old still sleeps lots, on an average day she goes to bed at 6pm and sleeps until 7 am, and can sleep easily up to 1 and a half hours after her nursery, though not every day. Bedtime is always the same.

this is very normal.i have a 2 year old and a 11month old and they both sleep at the same time.
they wake up about 7am, have a nap at 12pm till 3pm. then they go to bed in the evening around 7pm. it averages but thats the rough routine.
