I have already started my daughter on whole milk (she is 11 months) but she still gets 16oz of formula per day. When she turns 1 next month, I am going to start her on the Next Step, but just at night. She will have whole milk throughout the day, and have Next Step formula with her bedtime snack. I am just using it as a supplement.

With my youngest son, I used the Next Step exclusively for a month or so, then I would start to mix whole milk into the next step to introduce him to the whole milk without causing a lot of fuss (gas, stomach aches, etc.), and would continue to increase the whole milk and decrease the Next Step until he was comfortable with just the milk. Worked for me! Best Wishes!

I, too, would go with whole milk. It's much more nutritious and has the essential calcium plus added fat that growing babies need. Why would you want to spend more money on the cost of formula when whole milk is so much cheaper? I could've done cartwheels when my daughter turned a year just at the cost savings!

the next step is good, whole milk is kinda fatty, i would use 2% milk and some of the next step, along with a healthy diet

I would go with whole milk. It is recommended to change to whole milk at one year. I do not think that it is "bad" to give her formula, it just is not necessary.
