We are having a hard time transitioning our 1 yr. old daughter from bottle to sippy. She is very good with the sippy, knows how to use it and drinks very well from it, BUT, we just cannot get her to drink enough from it. We were told she needs 16 oz. per day and we are LUCKY to get 1 oz. out of her at each meal. She just wants to take some sips and is done with it. No WAY is she going to drink the amount she should! We have tried straws and she CAN drink from it, but most of the time she just wants to bite it since she is really teething right now! HELP!

My daughter woke up with a runny nose and head congestion... I was just curious what everyone finds to be the most effective cold medicine for their kids and why?

Right now we had triaminic in the medicine cabinet, but shortly I'll be making a trip to the grocery store and will be getting something better for her... hence why I'm curious as to what everyone finds works the best! Thanks!

My little boy is 2yrs 3 mnths and we are going on a trip wich involves a 3 hour drive. He won't sleep due to the time of travel. Can anyone suggest a toy/activity to captivate him for quite some time? Pens and crayons are a no no right now!

My daughter has been day trained for awhile. We have been working in nighttime. She wears pull ups at night and has been dry for the last 6 nights. When should I have her sleep in "big girl" panties. We live in apartment without a washer or dryer so I can't easily get the laundry done the next day if she has an accident at night.

It is wierd she'll poop all day long in there and she won't pee. She'll sit there for forever and still not pee. Then she gets up plays for a little while 2 or 3 minutes and then she'll pee in her panties/pull-up. Even when I take her back in 2 to 3 minutes she'll hold it and pee a little while later. Usually it is the other way around. She's got all the signs that she is ready. Any suggestions?

Hello,
Our 4 year old daughter is in her first year of Montessori preschool. We plan on keeping her in this program for one more year of preschool and then for Kindergarten. I don't think we'll continue with Montessori-style education for elementary though. I have read quite a bit about it and I definitely like it though it is expensive at $285 month for 3 mornings/ week. Does anyone have any feedback/experience to how their child fared with Montessori preschool/kindergarten compared to a play-based preschool? Thanks!

My 2 year old has had a fever of 101.9 for 2 hours. An hour ago I gave him some fever reducer. Now It's 101.1. I took him to the Doctor today and they said that he had bronchitis. Should i wait longer for the medicine to kick in? I don't want to give him any more medicine to overdose him. What should I do?

Our 18 month old will not sleep through the night. He should be shouldn't he? We've let him cry, but it doesn't work b/c he is not in a crib, but in a bed. So he just gets out of bed and goes to the living room and cry's untill one of us goes and gets him. Can someone gives us some tips on getting him to sleep all night.

I have been collecting Curious George things over the years and have some things that I think would look cute for a little boy's room. I'm due with my first child, a son, in a couple of months. I'm trying to de-clutter and am wondering if these things are worth holding on to. Would Curious George still be at all popular at that time? Please share your opinions. Thanks

I guess this is a psychology question (or maybe just a parenting question), but i have a nephew who is growing out of the toddler phase. I see him about once every two to three weeks, and he seems to keep forgetting who i am. Whenever i first see him, I try to go and pick him up or hug him, but he just runs away from me to hide behind his parents like he doesn't know me. Is this normal? Oh, and he's about 2 and half years old.

I have a three year daughter (just turn 3 in March), one day she ask me can she draw me I saud okay. I was expecting the little stick people but NO. She drew me with a head and body and started to add details. I was not ready for that. This there a place where I can get her IQ tested because she is not a normal 3 year old girl. She also does things that NO 3 years old can do or say at that age. How don't get me wrong the picture did not look let me but she added the glasses I was weraing, the clothes I had on, the tattoos, the earrings, you name.

my son is two and a half and i am about to have his little sister. he is my first child and i want to get him toilet trained as soon as possible, but i really dont know how to go about it. does anybody have any suggestions for me? i know some people say that you have to wait until the child is ready but i dont want him going off to school in nappies! i have him in jocks all day, but he wanders off and does his business, every time i ask him if he wants to go to the toilet he says no. i take him to the toilet constantly, but he doesnt always go, in fact sometimes just after i take him, he'll go and do his wandering act. i dont want to get frustrated with him, i want to be patient with him because i know he is learning, so i need some advice before i get to the frustrated stage!!

Do they take after you or dad?

Would you or are you going to have more?

I just found out I will be having a second baby in October. My 3 1/2 year old son asked me how the baby got in there, so I told him. I also explained how the baby will come out etc. etc. So many people I know are appalled that I would teach my 3 year old the truth. Please tell me how you have dealt with this situation and what you taught your child in regards to having a new baby or explaining about the basics of sex.
