How are they any different from the regular Huggies diapers and do they really help? My son is wearing Huggies Supremes and wetting through just about every night. We also tried Pampers Cruisers and it was actually worse using them. I'm tired and looking for a solution!

My 2 1/2 year old son is hell on wheels--he hears just fine (had it checked by the doctor) but refuses to listen. He will stand right there next to the oven and hear me say do not touch over and over again only to have him touch the oven. He does this with pushing the tv, chasing the cat, running without looking (we live on a very busy street) etc. Time outs don't work, yelling at him doesn't work, even spanking doesn't get through to him. He gets plenty of play time and one on one attention--good attention, but he does everything he can to get into trouble. Now he has reverted back to eating his bed before bedtime--he used to be called beaver because he ate all the wood off the ends of his crib. This is not normal but the doctor says he is just being 2. I am going nuts with this kid. HELP!!

My boys were easy- a noisy fire truck, or a noisy ambulance, or a noisy ANYTHING. For a girl? I don't know. She already has so many dolls it's scary. I want to get her something extra-special, but something she can play with- after all, keepsakes are really more for mom than baby, right?

My daughter got tubs in her ears last May and in the past two months she has already had 5 ear infections. I brought her back to the ENT and the doctor said that the tubs are still in and are doing there job by draining. So both the ENT and my daughters Dr have just been giving her antibiotics and ear drops every time I bring her in. I just want them to stop getting infected! I don't get her ears wet when I was her hair so I dont know what else to do. As a matter of fact she has another ear infection now and I have to bring her Monday. Does anyone know why this is happening all the time?

Hello everyone

I had recently posted a message about my 6yr old daughter that might have to repeat kindergarden, i wanted to offer a more thorough explanation.

Firstly I had enrolled my daughter in a ESE program for children with either learning disabilities she went to a pre-K class last year she attended it at her current elementary school, at that point they decided to pass her to regular kindergarten and continue speech therapy, they said they would watch her to see how she does in regular classes, well my mistake was not to ask them what would happen if she didn't do well, I guess since the teachers were so optimistic, and i thought that kinder was as easy as it was when i was growing up,I thought she would be fine.

anyway after she started kinder we went to one meeting and they said she was doing well except for math, well that was about 3 months ago, now the teacher tells me she might be held up in kinder because of reading problems, and that she is doing well in math, well we only have 2 more months of school here in florida and I am of course worried, I mean I do have many books, and I do spend some time with her, however I am now also asking myself why didn't they put her in some sort of special ed class if she is a slow learner, and it's not as if they didn't know it since for her to be put on that program she went through a lot of tests in 6 months.

anyway I am a bit upset at myself also would I have known that kinder was sooo hard nowadays I would have done more that I have to this point, but in the same token there the experts and they should have known what to do with a child that has learning difficulties, maybe take her out of a normal kinder and put her in some sort of special ed class?especially since she is enrolled in that ESE program, there solution is for her to repeat kinder, and I don't agree as I have seen how much she has learned.

The teacher tells me that my daughter is very well behaved and gives it her all, but with reading difficulties she cannot pass to 1st grade, I really don't know whether I should fight this or not, because I know I am the parent and I take full responsabilty, however some does fall on them since they should have informed me of this sooner, had I known she would have to repeat kinder for failing to learn how to read, I would have focused more on reading and not so much on math. I figured they could put her in 1st grade special ed class instead of having her repeat kinder.

I however did order Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons recommended by someone here I also and did go to the starfall.com website, this is the first time I have had this kind of experience since she is my oldest daughter and my youngest is in Pre-K I had no idea kinds could repeat kinder, anyway I will ask them about summer school and what else I could do, but this has all caught me off guard, I just need some guidance when it comes to this, because we will be having a meeting soon, and I don't know whether to fight it or just let it be, in any event I just want to look out for my daughter, Thanks so much to all the caring folks on this site, I appreciate all your advice. sorry for the long message.

5 & 4yo going downstairs at night. They've opened all of the gates at top of stairs (even double gates) we've tried so far. We can't install a locked door at the top of the stairs. Am worried they'll do or get into something dangerous without supervision. This is in the middle of the night or very early morning, my husband & I work full-time so staying up all night is not an option. We've tried disciplining by removal of privileges, spankings, groundings to rooms, etc. when it's apparent they have been downstairs. We've tried rewarding when it doesn't appear they've been downstairs. We've bolted the sliding and front doors (up high), locked up all the downstairs rooms we can, but the kitchen, living and dining rooms don't have doors & can't be locked. They are smart and curious kids (and I love that on one level) but have begun climbing on the counters, the table, to get to things they want. I am worried they could get hurt & need ideas to help protect them from themselves. Ideas?

The other day my 11 month old son managed to climb out of his walker that was next to his changing table where I found him hanging from the top of it for dear life. I felt terrible, He can walk but I would put him in his walker if I needed to get things done. Well that just goes to show how they surprise you! also he is just this tiny petite little guy that looks like he shouldn't be walking! LOL

As he grew up, my sister was always holding him. Now he is 16 months and he’s constantly asking to be held. He yells, cries, for up to 20 straight minutes if he is not held. My wife can’t cook or do anything but pay attention to him. He has become a 100% attention demanding guy, and I understand that. They need attention. But we also need to get him educated enough for him to be able to play by himself having us only keeping an eye on him for a couple of hours a day.
When we go out to the mall, he doesn’t want to be in the stroller or on a cart. He wants to walk and makes a scandal if we don’t let him walk. That’s the only time he doesn’t demand to be held, but then again, we can’t get through what we went to do. We let him walk, but he wants to go outside the store. He won’t let us hold his hand or direct his way in any way.
We know we’ve done something wrong while raising him, specially having him held for t
