My daughter got tubs in her ears last May and in the past two months she has already had 5 ear infections. I brought her back to the ENT and the doctor said that the tubs are still in and are doing there job by draining. So both the ENT and my daughters Dr have just been giving her antibiotics and ear drops every time I bring her in. I just want them to stop getting infected! I don't get her ears wet when I was her hair so I dont know what else to do. As a matter of fact she has another ear infection now and I have to bring her Monday. Does anyone know why this is happening all the time?

My 5 yo daughter had tubes put in her ears 2 yrs ago and she still gets infections. The doctors told me the tubes don't stop the infections, but they help with draining so they don't get worse and affect her speech and hearing. Have them check her sinuses. When sinuses get full they back up in the ears. She could be having trouble with sinuses and it's leading to ear infections. Happens to my daughter and me. Or allergies.
If they say sinuses are fine and no allergies, then I'd take her to another ENT. They need to try a different antibiotic if the one they are giving her isn't working to keep the infection gone. Since her ears are draining, it has to be another area causing the problems. Check it out to be sure. Been there too many times, myself and with my 5 yo, I really understand your frustration. I have 3 children.

every doctor knows that there is a limit to how often you can be on antibiotics. with 5 ear infections in the last 2 months chances are the antibiotics aren't even working anymore. you might want to also try having her adenoids checked.

ear tubes do not guarantee that she wont get any more ear infections, but the fact that she has had 5 in a matter of 2 months shows that there is a problem. maybe to be totally safe, put ear plugs in her ears when there is a chance of water getting in her ears.

my daughter is going for the period of the comparable ingredient and paradoxically we in basic terms have been given back from the EENT (ear wellbeing practitioner) a quick time in the past. the wellbeing practitioner advised me that he in basic terms does tubes as a final motel. frequently whilst a new child has had extra suitable than 3 infections in a three month era, they supply theory to putting tubes of their ears. in the journey that your new child is congested or has a runny nostril, this could be inflicting the infections, so it extremely is beneficial to offer her some benadryl or some sort of antihistamine. additionally, while you're giving your toddler a bottle whilst they circulate to mattress this could be inflicting it too because of the fact the fluid continues to be up by the ears fairly than draining down the throat.
