I am going to take her to see a specialist soon, don't worry. But I thought I would come her to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.
She has always been somewhat of a picky eater. And I know some kids are just little. It's not like her ribs are showing or anything and she has lots of energy. Her hair and teeth are healthy too. I just worry that she should weigh more.
She rarely wants to finish her dinner, even when I give her smaller portions to start with. But almost always she wants a big breakfast, so I try to make up for the other meals of the day where I know she won't eat well by really loading her up at breakfast time. I mean pancakes, eggs, bacon, the whole nine yards.
Is this normal for some kids to just be really tiny like her? Or might there be possibly something wrong with her physically? Her dad (who has joint custody with me) has harrassed me about not feeding her, but that's not the case. I want her to be as healthy as possible.

I'm having a hard time finding a pair of cream shoes and a pair of white shoes for my son (dress shoes for church). Everywhere I go I see plenty of dress shoes for girls but not too many for boys. Any suggestions (stores or websites)??

Well my 15 month old son chipped his tooth somehow and i just cant decide weather to take him to the dentist or not.. I know that can file down the edges so it is not so sharp and they can fil it in so it looks better.. but they would have to give him anesthetics and i really dont want to put him through that, would it be better to let it be or should i get it taken care of ? Its not too bad and it doesnt affect anything that he does, but it has gotten worse since it happened...thanks

My friend's child who is two years and five months old likes to draw over and scratch out people's faces in photographs/pictures. Given a newspaper, she will specifically focus and draw over/obliterate faces in photographs and not any other areas. What does it mean and is there cause for concern?

I am pregnant with my 2nd child and I just recently put my 2 year old in his big boy bed and now Im transfering the crib to my new baby. Do I need to buy a new mattress or can I use it again for my new born? Should I just flip it to the other side? I heard that you should because it sags and something to do with SIDS or something. But mattress's are so expensive. Please give me your advice. Thanks alot!!

I am virtually certain that Robitussion PE is causing my daughter to have diarrhea (b/c of the timing and duration). Diarrhea is not specifically listed as one of the side effects (upset stomach is listed as one of the uncommon side effects). Also, my doctor told us to give her 3/4 tsp... after doing some internet research, one website recommended 1/4 tsp for her age. Can anyone relate to my experience?

I hear a lot of advice from gals who keep suggesting methods from Nanny 911. It is just a TV show!!!! The kids don't need a "naughty chair" or a "good job" post board....THEY NEED A GOOD SMACK ON THEIR BUTTS!!!! For cryin' out loud, give your kid a few good swats and then make them stand with their nose in a corner. Works for my kid.

My son is 14 months old. Every active and typical. I am a first time single mom that works alot. My son cries sometimes when i step away from him. I am assuming he is going through a seperation anxiety stage.
My question is:
What is best way to deal with it?
He is crying when I leave with everyone,
he is crying when I am smoking a cigarette on the back porch even though he can see me through the door,
he cries when I walk into another room.
It does happen alot when he is tried... but every time and with everyone when i leave to go to work.
Any ideas or "I wish I would haves..." would be appreciated.

Thanks A Bunch!!
Cathy

I am at my wits end! I've tried every method possible. She will pee on the toilet just fine and has for quite some time now, but she always wants to poop in her panties. She sleeps through the night and wakes up dry. She'll even get up at night just to use the toilet.
I've tried reward systems, disciplining, spanking (not hard, just enough to teach her a lesson), talking to her about it, but none of it works. She's extremely intelligent for her age, so she has a very good understanding of what she's doing and why it gets me upset. I just don't know what to do about this. You can go anywhere and get a plethora of tips for potty training, but where do you go when your only problem is pooping on the potty, not peeing?
Has anyone else ever had this problem with their kids, and if so, how did you handle it?
