My daughter is three in ahalf years old. she likes to be mouthy and demanding, and some times she dosen't like to listen. But since I had my son three weeks ago she seems to be worse then she was before he was born. At first I thought is was because all my time couldn't be just for her anymore. So I started to have her help me with the baby. Also when he would take naps I would play games, watch a move stuff like that with her so she wouldn't feel left out. Is she acting the way she is for attention or is she jealous of the baby?

I am trying to figure out how to combine my daughter's "princess" birthday with Easter. We would like to have a Easter Egg Hunt, as well as "dress-up" time. Also, any advice on a poem or specific wording for the invitations would be great.

My youngest daughter who will be 3 in July still thinks she is a baby. She refuses to potty train and is constantly telling us she can't do something because "Me's a baby" as she says. She is the baby of the family. She has a sister who will be 5 on March 26th and a brother who will be 4 in May. Is this normal for her to still want to be a baby and is so how long before she thinks that she is no longer a baby. We used to call her baby girl but we've stopped that since this phase started. What else can we do?? We are desperate!!!!!!!!

Yesterday and today my daughter keeps running to me crying when she get the urge to go poo. She tells me she doesn't want too. I called the doc and they can't get her in until tuesday. My only other option is to take her to the E.R. BUT she is just constipated. I increased her juice intake and took her off milk completley but it's still not any better. I thought about getting her a child stool softener or laxative so if you know of ANYTHING I can try for her pleas tell me. It's pittiful to watch her hold her in because she knows it is going to hurt coming out.

I am a stay at home mom for about 6 months and we spend every minute together-
I kind of thought of joining a health club and getting some workout time in and they have a zero entry pool that my daughter and I can play in-
Today on our visit she cried so hard as soon as she noticed that I left her at the daycare-
I was right around the corner so I waited a few min to see if she would calm down- no such luck-
Has anyone had an experience like this and what did you do-
I know she should be socialized out there soon so I thought that this would be a good idea but Its really hard for me to leave her there knowing she was crying so hard-
I know your advice will be to let her cry and it will get better but thats not me- I can't do that-
Anyone have any thoughts to pass along?
Thank you

I am a new mom....lately my 6 month old little girl is sleeping more. She will take a 30 min nap in the morning...but then sleep 3-3 1/2 hours in the afternoon....is this normal?? I know most parents would love this...I just worry that something is wrong.
She is also cutting down on what she eats. She eats cereal in the morning, a LITTLE bit of her bottle...then veggies in the afternoon...not much more bottle, then veggies at night...cereal b4 bed. My concern is that she is not drinking a lot...again is this normal?? Maybe I am just being too worrisome...my husband and mother say that she will drink when she is thirsty...is this right??
Please dont think I am silly for asking these questions...lol lol...
Thanks for reading

My two year old had rotavirus and ended up being admitted overnight on Mon., for dehydration. Now my stomach is cramping up from time to time like someone is punching me in the stomach. My bm's are more loose and frquent, soory, I know, TMI. The nurses had told me that it is highly contagious to the person handling the diaper changes, me, of course. I tried to steadily wash my hands to prevent myself from getting it and spreading it, but I kow this has to be what it is. What help is out there for adults with it? Has anyone else ever gotten it from their child? I feel like a failure, since this is a sickness that comes from not being clean enough, or atleast that is what I have been told, so I really embarrassed, therefore no mean or useless answers PLEASE!

My son started preschool 2 mos ago and is having problems keeping his hands to himself. He pinches, throws toys and hits the other kids. His teacher thinks he doesn't understand that he's hurting the other children and that he has comprehension issues. This has been happening since day 1 but his 1st 3 weeks he brought home smiley faces, so i told him he was doing a good job. Come to find out, teacher gave him happy faces because she didn't want to send home bad remarks so early. She wants to meet with me and discuss his behavior. I met with her before to discuss the same thing and all she said was "i don't know what to do". He's not like this at home at all. I should preface this by saying that he is seeing a speech therapist because he is delayed in his speech. The therapist has offered to talk to the teacher and offer suggestions on how to deal with this situation. i gave the teacher the therapists numbers over a week ago and she still hasn't called. Any suggestions for my meeting?

What to do about 3 and a half year old who thinks hitting people is funny?

She will just go up to people and hit them when they are saying hi to her, or bye, or just talking to her. She does it to everybody. We try time out, but it doesnt work. After she hits somebody she starts calling them dumb and laughing at them. This puts me and my husband in a very bad situation, and we get very embarrased. What should I do?

without becoming totally paranoid ? on our local news they've been running a story about a missing child named christopher barrios jr. he was six years old and was taken from near his house one week ago. the police found his body last night. there was a registered sex offender living close to his grandmother's house where the little boy spent time playing. they have the sex offender in jail along with his parents and a family friend. it wasn't even just one sick person, it was four of them! i know some people have problems and they may have not have had the most wonderful, nurturing childhood themselves but that's just no excuse. i guess since i have a child now, this stuff hits really close to home. i just feel awful for what his family is going through and i can't stop thinking about how scared this little boy must have been and what he went through. and i'm so mad at his family for not being more careful with him: what is a six year old doing playing outside alone?

I would be caring for him from about 8:30 am until 5:30 pm. I would also be watching his 10 year old sister from 2:30 until 5:30 (after school) she will take the bus to the apartment complex. I was previously a kindergarten teacher and I do light educational activities with my own 4 and 2 year old. But I don't have a clue as to what to charge for both.
