He's 3.... This is just breaking my heart because it's one of those mysterious disorders that there is no official cause of. I had him when I was 29 so it's not like I was a candidate for complications. We have a 7 year old son who we are worried about because of the attention issue. My 3 year old has delayed speech, limited social skills, throws tantrums, and kicks/hits. Please help I'm just in such shock

This has begun fairly recently. She has been able to say "juice", "more", "that", "please", and other words used to request things since she was about 10 months old or so, perhaps a little late, but she learned alot at one time and seemed to be up to scale with others her age until around January when she turned two.
She just kinda stopped using words. For example, when she wants her cup filled she holds it up and says, "ugh ugh!" I ask her if she can say, "juice, please" but she continues to grunt. I have tried declining her request until she decides to use words, but it never works out. She just throws this huge tantrum, which is also something new. The other day, when she didn't get what she wanted, she screamed and cried for over an hour! She would pull on the collar of my shirt, but when I would try to hold her she would scream even harder and pull away from me.
Is this just "the terrible twos" or is it something I should really be concerned about?

My son has always been very laid back and okay with whatever, but this week he began to be frightened of every little noise. He is so skiddish for some reason. When anyone speaks to loud ( like his grandparents or excited friends) he starts crying his eyes out. Is this normal?

My ten month old is getting tubes in his ears and his adnoids removed tomorrow. I am really nervous about this!! Two of my other children got tubes in their ears when they were about 18 months old. One also had their adnoids removed. I wasn't this nervous about them because they were a little bit older. I just wonder what I can expect as far as how he will do after the surgery. Will he be in a lot of pain ? Will he be extremly cranky? What can I give him, like can he have a bottle right after surgery? Anyone else have a child this young who has had this procedure done? Advice please!!

A friend of mine has 2 little girls, ages 3 and 2. His wife, on a whim, decided to purchase a bunk bed for them. Myself, and several other friends, think the girls are too young to sleep on the top bunk, but the wife doesn't want to put both of them together on the bottom. She wants them to sleep in their own beds. The bunk bed is not one that can be seperated as 2 seperate beds, so keeping the beds seperated until they are older is not an option. I was just curious as to what other people thought about this. Are the girls too young to have a bunk bed?

I once invited the kids over to my place( 4 & 2 yrs old) to play with my 8 month old. But when they came, they only played with the toys ( licked a few , threw some around , banged some.....the 2yr old wanted to take a few with him ) but did not play with my kid at all. I encouraged them to sit in a circle and play together but in vain! I was managing my kid and had to watch them as well so that they don't break the TV or fall off the couch! I was in a mess. The mother came to check on them & was kind of embarressed and took them away.
Now next time if I invite them , how should I manage? I want to set a time limit for an hr and definitely keep just a few toys outside. But without sounding rude how do I ......
1) tell them about the time limit.
2) tell them when its time to leave.
3) what do i say when 4 yr old asks me where are the other toys !
4)encourage them to play together and not mess my living room?
5)(any other Qs I might be missing out )
Plsssssss HELP!!!!!

My toddler is very picky. I swear she only eats maybe 2 bites of food all day! But she will eat bananas like crazy but I don't want her eating bananas all day because then she gets a bad stomach ache. She doesn't want to eat meals. And all she wants is cookies which I dont like to keep in the house anyway. But she will not eat real food. How can I get her to eat? And how can I add good stuff like vegetables to what she does eat? She is in the lower 5th percentile for her weight. Her doctor told me she needs to eat more. But other than that she is healthy so the doc told me to not worry too much but do try to get her to eat more. But she will not eat vegetables or meat or bread or anything like that. Her grandparents spoiled her so much (they babysit while I work) with cookies and candy and now she won't eat unless it is something sweet!! I ended that real quick though once I found out about it.

My son is 2 years old, we live in a small townhome and his toys are currently in the living room. Would it be better if all his toys were kept in his room, or in the family room? Is it better for him to have his own "play space" and us to have ours, or is it ok to have it all inner mingling?

Do you parents take your preschoolers out for the summer (like a normal school year) or let them continue the normal routine? My daughter's school is open all year round.

We take vacations throughout the year so it's not like I need to pull her out for a summer trip. Also playgroups around here seem to be LESS active during the summer and I don't want her missing the socialization.
