My ten month old is getting tubes in his ears and his adnoids removed tomorrow. I am really nervous about this!! Two of my other children got tubes in their ears when they were about 18 months old. One also had their adnoids removed. I wasn't this nervous about them because they were a little bit older. I just wonder what I can expect as far as how he will do after the surgery. Will he be in a lot of pain ? Will he be extremly cranky? What can I give him, like can he have a bottle right after surgery? Anyone else have a child this young who has had this procedure done? Advice please!!

Yes, my daughter was about this age when she had her surgery. Yes she did have a bottle shortly after the surgery but she threw it right back up. At first it she really scared me when I saw her after she came out b/c she was purple and screaming which I'm sure you remember from your children the doctor said it was from the anistesia(hope I spelled that right lol) Our doc said we could give her Tylenol but every doc is different soo.... But as far as her being in pain afterwards she fell asleep in the car on the way home we had an hour drive by the time we got home she woke up and was happy just not as active as normal. I also brought a new toy for her to play with after she got out of surgery and this seemed to help. Good Luck tomorrow! I'm sure everything will go well!!

what excatly are the tubes for? any way the doctor will tell you what you can give him for the pain and I don't see the problem with giving him a bottle. just ask his doctor just to be sure
