two and a half is not talking yet. I have never heard him say mummy/daddy or anything audible other than dvd! My niece (his mum) was told at his last check up that they would investigate it when he was this age. Why has it been left this long?

My son literally copies everything my daughter does. He thinks it is a game, but she is getting him to do her dirty work for her now so she won't get in trouble. I know she does things for attention since she isn't the baby anymore & gets jealous. So any suggestion on how to stop him while I am still trying to teach my daughter some of the things she does are not acceptable.

Have been seeing this guy for a while now. How do you be a 'stepmom'? Without ruining the kid or stepping on toes? I think this guy is the one and I really need some advice on how to make it work with his kid. The kid will be there half the time. I really want to do a good job. Are there any good websites and this stuff?

I'm the father and the mother and I have been sharing custody of our very happy daughter since she was 5 or 6 months old. She is always happy during the day and never had a problem going to sleep after I put her down at night. She seems to have taken on an extremely spoiled attitude and wont go to sleep easily any longer. I don't like her to have to cry herself to sleep, but I feel like I have to let her know that she's not the boss and can't get what she wants by simply crying. PLEASE HELP ME! She's doing this in the middle of the night as well.

A few days ago, we realized our our 14 month old was saying "poop" a few minutes before doing so in her diaper. We bought a toddler toilet (potty) and sat her on it yesterday with her diaper on when she said "poop" a few times the next day. She pooped in the diaper while sitting on the potty three times that day. This morning, she said it and we put her on the potty with no diaper and she pooped in the potty. Wow. So, this seems great, but I don't think she has a clue about peeing. Should we continue this or is this all too early? How do we deal with the peeing?

Thank you,

Alyssa

Its for my daughter's 3rd bday, princess/tinkerbell theme... I've been trying so hard to think of a good place. I would rather not have a park party because we've already done that the 1st two times ;)
Also any good party ideas?

My 4 year old will not leave the house unless he is wearing his Superman costume. He told my wife tonight that if he does he will have to kill his "real self" - he said "kill the real Eddie". Obviously, he is afraid of something, and, has developed an attachment to this costume. But, kill himself?! This last comment has us very, very concerned. We are happily married (no upsetment for him there), my wife is a stay at home Mom, and, he seems like a happy kid (with the exception of this last comment). Any insight is much appreciated. We are going to begin to look into talking with a child psychologist, and, have him tested. But, any insight out there is much appreciated.

When I say she cries about everything, I mean everything... She is very loving and pretty well behaved, but she does not know how to express herself in any other way. I try to tell her that we can talk about anything and that she needs to tell me when her brother does something to her, but how do I really get through to a 3 year old? I am finding that I am starting to give in to her more and more, and I know that is wrong because it gives her power over me. Although with everything else she cries about, it is an easy way out of another incident! My daughter is the light in my eyes and I so badly want to help her express herself...

Has anyone seen this news article about the teens making a 2 year old and a 5 year old smoke pot? it is sick. They videotaped it. It looks as if that isn't the first time it has happened because the kids were holding the pot and inhailing. What do you think the punishment should be for those teens who videotaped it?
