How about a savings account that he can't open til his 16th or 18th birthday. Don't forget to contribute to this account every paycheck so that as it grows it will gain interest. Think about it he's only two, a few balloons and some birthday cake will do him good plus you know everyone else will get him toys and clothes. Your gift he will remember and also appreciate. He will be able to buy a new car or use it for college, all of which you will be paying for later anyway. Good luck with the birthday party. Hope you choose wisely!

Oh, I thought that the 2 year birthday was a hard one. All the "cool" toys say 3 & up and everything else seems for babies.
I have 4 and 2 year old boys. For both of my boys, I gave them "imitating" toys when they were 2. For my youngest who just turned 2 in October, he got a broom, dust pan, & complete cleaning kit for this last birthday. For Christmas, he got a set of dishes! He is my cooker, always bringing me pizza's (that says something!). Of course, anything with wheels work. As for getting something he'll never forget, we got our youngest wooden train table & set, knowing he'll grow into it. The puzzle of the tracks I still feel like I have to do! Don't try to set a memory at 2, most people's first memories don't start until 3 or 4.

I quite have 2 one million/2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days old twin boys. they are the two into various issues precise now, yet i will supply you plenty innovations of the failings that they the two love. expenses might variety so it quite relies upon on how plenty you're making plans on spending. -For an out of doors toys: a new child slide Powerwheels vehicle sandbox -For indoor toys: matchbox automobiles board books plastic or wood puzzles play nutrition academic DVDs ball pit blocks play equipment or device bench Little people play contraptions something Thomas the prepare bounce Frog refrigerator Phonics or different magnetic alphabet toys maximum toys say what an prolonged time they are suitable for on the container. So if no person propose something which you like...make a journey to a toy shop and in basic terms browse around. At this age, they are nevertheless notably elementary to delight.

A tricycle or red flyer wagon would be memorable. My nephew is that age and loves the tent and sleeping bag set he was given. Be sure to take lots of pics for him! I still remember my 2nd birthday party - not the gifts but my family members who were there and the Disney characters cake! :)
Have fun!

Buy him something that involves him getting some exercise.. Like a first bike or trike.. As an added bonus it will come in a large cardboard box.. Kids love playing with the boxes of expensive gifts..

He won't remember no matter what it is. Do you remember when you were two? For most of us, our earliest memories are from 4 or 5 years old.
The best gift? Give him your time, your love, and read to him, or listen to music......that will be a far greater gift than any thing else and may stay with him his entire life.

Go to a packing/shipping store and get a REALLY BIG BOX.
Cut "windows" and "doors" in it, and you're the best parent in the WORLD!
But if you really want a "toy" it's spring and the Gazillion Bubbles line of bubbles is really fun in the backyard + you're playing with him!

This may sound cheesy, but what about a photo album of him from birth to now. You can leave most of the pages empty so you can add more and more each year. Most two year-olds seem to love nothing more than they love themselves, and he will always look forward to what you add each year.

Something that will remain in his possession when he's 20 years old. Not chocolate, toys or something that quickly gets consumed/broken.
I'd suggest a necklace, but I wouldn't want him to swallow it. Perhaps take him and the Mrs. to a professional photo shoot.
