There are ear drops called Ear-gesic that your doctor can prescribe. It numbs his ear and makes it more comfortable for him.

keep him comfortable and hydrated. if he won't drink out of a sippy cup or bottle because the pressure hurts his ears. try the pedialite popsicle, or any popsicle for that matter. the important thing is to keep him hydrated and comfortable. if he wants to sleep all day let him. sleep is the best thing, it actually helps the body heal. give him the motrin or tylenol only when the pain is unbearable and the amox at regularly scheduled time but don't wake him if he is sleeping to give him the meds, just move on to the next dose, don't double because you missed one. you don't want to over medicate him because it can actually cause him more problems. it's no fun having a sick baby, just hang in there, it will get better

Keep him comfortable . The worst will be over in a day or so ; but he must remain on the antibiotic until it's through . Offer him plenty of liquids to drink .
Never insert anything in an infants' ears without the recommendation of his pediatrician .

did they not give you drops for his ear? I have heard of people cupping there hands and putting it over the ear to help the pain, I don't know if it works though. Also if you warm a rag and put it on the ear it can also help. Good luck with the little one.

Keep him hydrated. Don't make him lay flat on his back. Don't smoke around him... or let anyone else smoke around him. And if you smoke cigarettes, or anyone else does, make them change clothes before coming around your son. A lot of people don't realize that smoke on clothing is still bad for babies and toddlers. Other than giving him his antibiotics religiously and making sure he's pain-free, hydrated, etc. Just cuddle and love on him a bunch! :o)

With the anti-biotic he will start to feel better withn one day. It works that fast, although they need to stay on it for however long your doctor said too.

the antibiotics will kick in soon and his fever will go away. there is really not much else you can do for him. :( i know its tough but trust me, the antibiotics just need a little time to kick in.
