We were in town today and I met up with some friends in a cafe, I took a few toys for my 12 month old to play with but he was far more interested in the mini milk cartons! He was stacking them, put one inside the other, squashing them and trying to eat them. His favourate at home is a reel of selotape, he puts his arm through it and walks round with it in the air!!
I also took him for a walk yesterday and he found a stone and carried all the way to the post box and back again!

I have 4 kids who have NEVER been into shop bought toys and always made their own toys with bits of wood and paper etc, in fact our house burnt down when the youngest was 3 and we never replaced the toys that they had because it seemed to be pointless!

My son is only 10 months old but he loves to play with paper and cell phones as well as the computer keyboards. My husband has Nitro powered RC's and my son likes them too far prefers them over all his toys without a doubt

My three go through phases - right now they are into 'caves' and 'club houses', which we make with chairs and blankets. And of course empty boxes become race cars and houses, empty paper towel rolls become light sabers and empty toilet paper rolls become trumpets.
