Try calling a babysitting/nanny service and ask them what they charge for one of their staff to babysit and take it from there. Keep in mind, that the babysitters/nannies there are professionals and trained for this sort of thing. All the best and God Bless!!

This depends on a few things: First, how old are you? How much experience do you have? Are you traveling (transporting yourself) to their home to provide the childcare? And, are there additional responsibilities such as meal prep, transporting the child, or other household duties that accompany the work?

I always pay our babysitters at least $10 per hour to watch our 3 1/2 year old daughter. All of the childcare providers I hire are older (18+), come to my house, and have lots of experience with kids.

One more thing... Occasional events scheduled separately tend to merit a higher rate than a "regular" gig. I would pay a regular sitter $50 per recurring 5-hour slot, but would pay a weekend babysitter $12 per hour.

Again, adjust the rates according to what makes sense for you, your region, your age and experience, etc... But for a regular 9-hour slot, I'd accept no less than $65 (appx $7 per hour), no matter what your circumstance.

Good luck! :)

I am a childcare provider. I took classes and am registered with the state of Florida. I charge 95.00 per week. This covers 6-11 hours per day. I charge by the week not by the day. So if I child is there for 3 days they pay the same amount as a 5 day week. I also charge a late fee of 1.00 per minute per child if a parent is after 6pm or if their child is there for more than 11 hours. Occassionally I do take a drop in if one of my regulars is absent. I charge 20.00 per day for this. Taking care of children is not an easy and providers should be paid a decent wage for it.

I live in south texas (corpus) and all of us moms who do daycare charge 3 dollars an hours, however if it is full time like 9 hours that you are suggesting we just charge 20 for the day. but really its up to you.

I would charge about $2 per hour.So if it is 9 hours it should earn me about $18.Cheap rates and high quality care will attract more people to come and apply for your services.Of course there some things you need to make such good services for your customers.

First,it is your age. Most people love to have their child cared by those between the age of 18+ to 45.
Second,your patience.
Third,are you experienced enough?
Forth, are you transporting yourself to the customers home to provide childcare?
Fifth, are you able to cook delicious meals?Nobody wants to eat a meal that is overcooked or so plain.
Sixth, are you responsible?Nobody wants a troublemaker to work at their home.
Seventh, are you honest?Nobody wants a worker to work for them if you are not honest.
Eight,do you like children? If you do not like children, there's no point to be a helper to others if you are going to hold a childcare service and don't love children.Sooner or later, you will be fired and when the news spread, nobody will want your service anymore since you don't love them at all and don't even borther or care about your customer's children.

there is a drop in child care center where i live and they charge 7 dollars per hour. they do offer special rates if you reserve blocks of time (like you need someone to watch your child for 3 or 4 hours, 2 or 3 days a week) but your situation sounds similar to the idea behind there center.

If its someone you allready know it can be cheaper sometimes. I charged about 5$ for people i knew from church, 2-3$ if i knew them really well. that was about 5-6 years ago though. it might be more now. but 5x9 is 45$ which is just a little less than minimum here in AR. You could always just go with min wage wherever you are from. and of course if its at your house you are providing food and drink.

I'd say anywhere from 3-5 dollars and hour...depending on what you will be required to do, maybe more! What I mean by that is if they expect you to do any housework...it also depends on how old you are and how much experience you have.
