One big, very important word
**** INDEPENDENCE*****
It is very natural and very developmentally appropriate, it is something they feel they can control, and that is believe it or not, a good thing. try to be willing to give a bit on this, what does it really matter what she looks like at home, or doing errands? Just laugh and be proud you have given her the freedom of choice.

Does it really matter why. As long as she is happy is all that should matter . she will get over this stage in her life its not a bad thing , and u will remember that little 3.5 year old girl that drove u insane because she insisted on wearing the same thing every day for the rest of your life. these kinds of things r what memories r made of. Enjoy the moment. ITS ALL GOOD.

Same reason they want to read the same book and watch the same video. They like predictability, they like routine, they like feeling like they have some control over their little lives. I solved my battle over clothes with my preschooler by agreeing to take turns choosing clothes. So on alternating days she picks and as long as it's reasonable, she can wear it. On your turn you pick, and if she complains, she loses her next turn.

Very normal. My youngest son who is the same age wants to wear the same thing all the time to. I wash his favorite pajamas all the time.

It's just her way of expressing herself. My daughter has three Illini shirts, and if I let her, she rotates them daily, all week. It's not really a big deal in the long run, just wash them and let her go.
