Children's Motrin is better (for a fever). My doctor always recommends alternating between Motrin and Tylenol. Give her the Motrin first and then Tylenol in 4 to 5 hours.
I wouldn't take her to the hospital until you know if the motrin is going to break the fever. Don't put her in a cool bath as others have suggested, it only brings the fever down for a few minutes and then spikes it right back up. She is not gonna get brain damage from a fever of 103. If it gets any higher than 104.5 I would then suggest going to the hospital or calling your pediatrician (I'm sure that they are on call or another doctor is).

My daughter is now three years old. Over the past 2 years she's spiked fevers up to 105 (while piggybacking Tylenol and Motrin) and has had countless febrile seizures. She does NOT have brain damage and suffers no ill effects from running such high fevers. Children tend to run higher fevers than adults and can tolerate them. How high a fever is does not indicate how ill a child is. Give her either Tylenol or Motrin and wait and see. I've found that, at least for my children, Motrin tends to work better than Tylenol. Definitly DO NOT give her any type of cold bath because it will give her the chills, make her shake and increase her temp even more. Call your doctor and get his/her advice. A temp that high is not usually dangerous but your doctor might want to have her checked out to see just what is causing it. My daughter had most of her seizures when her temp only rose to 102...it's not how high the fever is...it's how quickly it rises.

Don't panic. Kids can run a higher fever than adults. Alternate Tylenol with Motrin. Give her the Motrin, then 4 hours later, give her a dose of Tylenol. Make sure you give her lots of liquids like Pedilyte or popcicles. Don't worry too much if she isn't eating much solid food as long as she is getting the fluids to keep her from dehydrating. DO NOT soak her in cold water!!!!! She could go into shock. It is ok to use some cool (not ice cold) wet, wash cloths to wipe her forehead or the back of her neck with. If after all of this and the fever still doesn't come down or gets higher, then take her to the ER. I wish you the very best and I hope that she feels better soon.
Remember, a fever is the body's natural immune response to infection or inflamation. It's not always a bad thing if it isn't too high.

Yes I would give her Tylenol, it will lower the fever. And give her pedialite so she doesn't dehydrate. You can even try to give her some chicken broth. But if you keep giving her Tylenol it may get her past it by morning. If she doesn't break the fever after midnight or starts to run a fever in the morning, then take her to the dr. But I think I would just try giving her Tylenol for now unless you notice she is getting worse. Then take her to the hospital.

A temp of 102 in a sick baby is pretty normal. Keep her hydrated and tylenol in her (although I prefer ibuprofen) and keep taking her temp every couple hours if it keeps going up take her to the emergency room if it stays the same or goes down just keeping motoring her.

Children can run a higher fever than adults. I would give her a dose of tylenol and if by the time your ready to give her the next does if her fever has not reduced at all take her to the ER. Try giving her plenty of fluids or freezer pops. Good luck.

You have to follow your instincts with this.
My daughter was the same during this past week, and after a dose of calpol, she was a little better.
We did call our doctor though, who said that we didn't need to worry about the temperature since a child can be fine on a high temperature and ill with a low temperature.
You just have to trust your own judgement!

Tylenol might hide some of the symptoms. Take her to the hospital now and let them make a diagnosis.
