Don't go to one of those boutiques in the mall. You wouldn't want a 17 year old putting holes in your baby. Take her to her pediatrician and see if they do it. If not, take her to a piercing parlor(try to stay away from one that bikers frequent) or to a small family owned jewelry store who has a piercing license. Getting it done now will keep her form getting it done when she is 10 at her friends house with a sewing needle and a potato. If she doesn't want it, then she can take it out, but how many teenage girls have you seen begging their parents to let them get their ears done.

I think it's fine. I got my daughter's ears pierced when she was 3 months old. They also did them at the same time so she only had to go threw it once. My other daughter, for some odd reason, didn't get hers done until she was three years old. I thought it was easier with her because she didn't cry. They did hers at the same time as well. But it's up to you to make the choice. I went to Claire's in the mall. They had an older woman working there and she did my kids.

I used to think I would wait until she asked to get her ears pierced..... but I did pierce my daughters ears at about 6 months, she doesn't even realize they are there, doesn't pick at them.... if you wait till 10 months or so, it may be an issue. My daughter is 3 now and has had no problems with her earrings. She enjoys having me put matching earrings in her ears for her outfits too.
I think it is completely up to you, you will always have someone who says something, but it isn't going to hurt her.

Make sure that you want to take the time to care for her ears before you have it done. Babies usually do fine with pierced ears. Just be careful that you don't catch her earrings on her clothes or when you put her in her car seat. Call her doctor if her piercings become red or inflamed.

It is totally up to you. If you do decide to do it, be prepared for the screaming and crying...that really threw me when I got my daughter's ears pierced at 10 months old.
And other than a slight chance of infection and the initial pain, there is no reason not to do it if you want to. It does not hurt them any more than a vaccination would.

sure why not? many people do ti. just make sure that you have it done at a reputable place and that you keep up with the cleaning and rotating of her earrings. Also i don't suggest earrings that are too big or easy for her to grab out.

just make sure u get it done by a licensed person. better yet get your pediatrition to do it.

personally, if i had a daughter i would wait for her to ask to get her ears peirced. luckily i had a son so the "big decision" for me was to circumcize or not to circumcision.

I had both my girls ears pierced when they were little and they never looked back. Now, having their belly button pierced is a different question.
