Height is determined by several factors - genetics and nutrition
If you want your son to be taller, make sure he gets proper nutrition. You can't do anything about the genetics. I am 6 inches taller than my father and 12 inches taller than my mother.

It is all in the genes, I am shorter than my father but taller than my mother and my son is the same height as my wife and me. At 12 years old he grew 6 inches so we assumed he would be tall. never happened. We also doubled their height when they were 2 and he was supposed to be 6" taller than he turned out.

Your Sons dad is 5,6. fine what is the height of your sons grand parents height ? Genetic factor decides the persons height. In brief . your sons will not be less than 5,5. If he is still young, and if go for swimming or cycling his height may get increased by another 2 inch. Normally height gaining process stops at the age of 19 - 21 for boys and 16 - 18 in case of girls

There's really no sure-fire way to know. He could be shorter, the same, or taller. Genes from previous generations from either side of the family come in to play in combination with other genes. Genes only determine his potential height. Nutrition also plays a part in what his height actually turns out to be.

I'm 5'0 and my husband is 5'10. It all depends on genetics. If the grandparents are taller, then he may be taller then you and your husband. Both my husband and I have shorties on both sides. My son is 3, and he's only in the 10th percentile for height. He'll probably be around 5'6 if he continues at that growth curve. And that's okay, he's freakin adorable.

a lot depends on both family members history. there are tall genes and short genes and neither is dominant - so your child could be either short or tall depending on which gene he has picked up.
If the majority of the family is tall on both parents side, then there is a strong probability that the child will also be tall. And the same goes for shortness.

well, we dont really need to know and of course it doesnt really matter, but it is interesting! I thought so!
go to:
www.parentcenter.babycenter.com
it will ask your childs age, weight height & gender and height of mom and dad. It will give you an estimate of how tall they will be. I have also heard of doubling their size at age 2 for a ball park figure. I dont know how acurate either one are but its interesting.

It has no relation with father and mother. Just try to give him full nutrition and full fill his daily vitamin necessity, he must be taller than both of u. I have practical knowledge about that.
