Ok I have always been skinny, but I haven't always ate healthy. So several years ago I made a vow to live a healthier life. So eating healthy is important to me. Well my mother and grandmother watch my son for me while I work for free. Right now I am in college so paying extra for daycare would be hard so they are really taking a large burden off my husband and I in that sense. BUT they feed my 19 month old the most unhealthiest things. My mom will let him snack on Cheetos, then feed him dinner, and after dinner they'll give him icecream/cookies. I have expressed my desire to have him snack on healhier foods and although they hear me they ignore it. It really irritates me because my son is chunky and I don't want him to have struggle in life with his weight and health like some people.

Its not like I am telling them to starve him, just skip the icecream and cheetos. How do I go about this in a way that isn't rude?

My little guy needs one drop in each eye twice a day for five days. I would like to hear from those of you who have found a successful method to administer those drops.
The first drop in the first eye was no problem, after that...I could've used 10 hands!!
I have tried doing it with him laying on my lap, and have tried it with him standing, looking in a mirror and pulling down the bottom lid, but it's still a struggle.
Any good suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I was at the park today-- my son is 2 1/2, this other kid (same age) hit him. his mom would say 'no hitting' but the kid kept on hitting my son and other kids. I had my son come sit with me for a while, and when he went back out, the kid hit him again. after a few more times, his mom put him in time out. all she said is "dont do that" and she had in the stroller for like 20 minutes......

thats NOT hot to give a time out!!! you have to say "DO NOT HIT" and put them in there for about 5 minutes.... after 5 minutes, they will pretty much forget why they're there, and they'll find a way to amuse themselves......

I want to talk to the kid myself, but I know it's not my place. besides tattle on the obvious, what can i do??

btw-- i know "they're only two"......dont give me that.

When my son was 6mts, we moved in with my husbands parents. Their son (my brother-in-law) is 12, and has disorders, and he can not control his behavior. He yells and screams, and is very rude. My inlaws do NOT disipline him cause he wont listen. Now my son is 3, starting a new preschool, and is taking toys away from other kids and he is hitting and bitting, and also wont listen. My husband and I have tried everything that we can think of to help our son to understand that this behavior is not good. But he wont listen. My son looks up to my brother-in-law. I just could use some advice on what we could do to get this behavior he has picked up corrected. We have limited the amount of time our son spends with his uncle and grandparents, could this be a way of acting out cause we wont let our son see them? Some advice please, for a first time mother!!

I have a 4-5 year old girl that can be sometimes a litttle obsessive about things, and constantly cries since she started jk? I guess i just need a little reassurance that this is normal. From everything i read it seems it is, but i cant help but feel its not.

I have tried EVERYTHING to pottytrain my 3.5 year old. He goes pee no problem. He even goes to bed at night in his undies. My problem is he won't poop on the toilet. I've tried putting in a small potty for him. My parenting mag. says leave the underwear on him. He'll only get constipated once. He poops in them too though! I've tried giving in and putting a pull up on him (but I don't want to give in all the time). He has sat on the potty and will hold it in until he gets off then will do it in his undies or pull up. Please please someone help me with some advice. I go through alot of laundry. He is due to start school next September too. Why won't he poop on the potty?! Thank you in advance and if you're only looking for the 2 points go answer someone else. I'm desperate.

I am workign on a project for school and I was wondering how many mothers and fathers out there worry about their child climbiong out of the crib and possibly injuring themselves. If there was a product out there to help prevent it would you buy it?

My oldest NEVER did this. She will literally EAT her board books or if she has a blanket with some fuzz she'll rip at it with her teeth until she yanks the fuzz off and eats it. She does the same with stuffed animals and clothing and she even tries to eat her shoe laces. I feed her a well balanced diet and she get very nutritious snacks whenever she wants them- why is she doing that? Is she lacking something? Or does she just like to rip at things with her teeth??

My daughter is almost 2 years old and has had a big of a cough. Its mostly occuring at night while she is asleep and i've attempted to give her cough medicine however she refuses to take it. She will spit it out or throw it up.

I'm looking for suggestions on medicines (maybe ones that dont taste so bad or that your child prefers the taste of) or methods of getting your child to take this medicine. Do you mix it in juice or something?

10 points to best suggestion...

How do you handle pure defiance? I'm pretty sure he's rebelling because we just had another baby 5 weeks ago, but he won't listen to ANYTHING we say anymore. We're trying to keep him involved and continue to give him one on one time, but it's hard with his attitude. Any suggestions?

before it becomes a bigger problem in her adult life, I dont lie and neither does my husband, Im pretty sure she learned it from my husbands mother ( the grandma) and her child... because the grandmother is a compulsive liar...she lies about every little thing, and I have been catching my little girl up in lies, she does it because she knows she will get in trouble for things that she does, today I caught her with pop in our living room and shes cant have it in the living room because of all the spills, she told me first that it wasnt her then told me that she brung it in here for me... How do I correct this... I have talked to her many times about lying being wrong, have punished her with grounding but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know of any disciplinary tactics to keep her from doing this aside from spanking her? She has been spanked before but I prefer not to spank her over something thats not as major

I like to relax in the evening, so I have a 12 oz beer or a small glass of wine every day before dinner. I never go beyond that.

My 2 year old child watches this and she says that daddy is drinking juice.

So is it OK for me drink before child every day?

Appreciate your responses.
