How cute, but frustrating, right? My little girl went through this phase about a week after I introduced the "big girl potty" to her. She loved it (like I said for about a week) then decided that she did NOT want to potty in it anymore. (she wouldn't wear a diaper, either) She'd wag it around the house, sit on it like a chair to watch a movie...etc, etc!! It finally got not so cute and funny...SO, I MADE her wear her diaper, and she got time out EVERY TIME she did not go to her potty. 7 months later, and she STILL has accidents...but that is once in a blue moon...she's done pretty good. I think she got the point that is was very important she be a big girl, and go in the "big girl potty".....Or she just got tired of having all those time outs!! Looking back, I also think it's just a normal phase they go through...so, good luck....and be FIRM, but FAIR....no child is perfect, and it sounds like yours is a sweetie.
OH YEA...I took my little girl to wal-mart and let her pick out some hand soap (that SHE thought would be fun to use) and some fun looking wipes (that was especially for HER and would help her be a big girl). She looked forward to using the potty after that!! There is Kandoo ofcourse, but for some reason, my little girl picked out the Johnson and Johnson line of stuff....I think in part because her favorite color is blue....GOOD LUCK!!

Try buying her some potty books to read when she's on the potty. Read some books when you are on there and have her in there with you. Elmo has a new DvD out, called Potty Training with Elmo that I've heard good things about. I'm currently in the process of potty training my 23 month old son and know how difficult it can be. Consistancy is the key to success.

Is she ready yet? If she doesn't show proper use with her potty then I would take a little break from it and then put her in underwear. You BOTH have to be ready for it. I know it will be messy and you will go through alot of clothes but it really works.

get some washable books and a few easy to clean toys that she can only play with while sitting on the potty(your child is very normal by the way;))

Try having her go in the regular toilet. My mom used treats or sticker charts to potty train (their are 16 children in my family) to encourage the kids to want to use the potty.

I bought a potty, a chart and stickers. For everytime my 2 year old goes potty in his toilet, he gets a sticker. He loves it! I also gave him a book to read while he sits there.
Has she watched you go? We did that in the beginning to show him how to go.
Good luck, Hon!

There are many websites out there that can help you. All you can do is show her the way and it's her choice whether she does it or not. Don't get mad at her because it will only make things worse. Just keep reminding her and also try using rewards for everytime she goes or even tries.

how old is she ? she may not be ready. its perfectly fine for them to play with their potty - let them have some fun with it and see its nothing to be scared of. all you can do is look at parent sites online and see if she is showing all the signs and just be patient. it takes time.
