I just had to respond as I work at a daycare/ preschool, and it's truly unfortunate but kids bite and get bit. A new daycare would have the same issues it's usually not aggression it's just that at this age they don't have the words to express themselves and biting is just the go to. Not to mention teething pain and just curiosity. We as daycare providers really try to prevent this from happening but it is next to impossible, you cannot see everything that goes on at all times. So give us a break. But I do realize this wasn't your question, I just had to respond to the fellow answerer's. As to your question I would just make sure that the daycare is putting ice on the mark as soon as possible and if there is still a scar from is you can try Mederma. I am sorry about this I know it's hard but it won't go on for too much longer.

That's amazing that after all that time that you can still see a mark, and the skin wasn't broken. The child who bit must have pulled. Anyway, I know everyone's first reaction is "get rid of the little biter", but where do all these children end up if no one helps them get a handle on their biting? Children bite for a reason, either avoiding something, they have a sensory need, they want something, or they want attention. Biting is a part of being a toddler... it comes with the age and developmental stage. True, some children never bite, but it is pretty common in the three and under set. I've seen some pretty nasty bite marks from kids, and other than washing it with an antiseptic (like bactine) to remove the bacteria from the biter's mouth, and perhaps some Neosporin or the new scar medication, Maderma, there probably isn't much to do but wait for new skin to make the mark fade.

I've never heard of creams for that maybe something to fade scars, but as far as finding another day care, i have worked at many daycares, and biting happens, it is not the teachers fault if it has only happened twice in three months, I have a child in my class who is two, he just randomly runs up to a child and bites them in a matter of two seconds, the teacher is not supper woman for crying out loud. Talk to the director if the problem persists, we have had children removed if that did not stop biting. Some children bite and the teachers cannot really punish other than time out for it, by state laws. I'm sorry your child is getting bitten

I am dealing with a biter in my one year old class. We have tried several things to prevent her from biting, but nothing had worked. I tried giving her ice treats so she could have something to chew on. I tried separating her from the other chilfren by giving a activity that she could do on her own, I tried one minute timeout, and her parents has even gone as far as to bite her and none of these things work. In my class my assistant and I have 16 children and it is impossible for us to see everything. On a normal day she attempts to bite at least three children some times she succeed and others I am able to prevent but it's a struggle every day. The only thing I can suggest is watch the bitter closer and pray that she will get pass this habit soon.

The first thing I would do is find her another daycare to go to. They should be watched closer so that the other kids aren't biting on her this much. As far as the marks you might try some Vitamin E lotion

That's still bad even if there is no broken skin. Take her to a different day care and use Neosporin for your daughter skin.

I didn't read everyone's replys, but have you tried Mederma? They make "Mederma for Kids" and it works really well. You do have to use it every day to see results.
What is the daycare doing about this situation? How sad!

Nowadays there are many creams and lotions that you can use. Make sure the skin isn't broken or infection may occur. Notify the daycare about what has happened and stop it happening again.

The scar will eventually go away. But I would seriously consider calling child protective services. I am a little sensitive about these things. I have seen bites lead to serious disfiguring life altering injuries. In my opinion this baby is in a dangerous daycare.
