We love each other but fight over stupid stuff, only been married 5 months, we are 33 and 39 yrs old, 2 kids from previous relationships. very much in love, but bicker about stuff like dicsipline ( i am stricter) and what the kids eat. a granola bar is not breakfast and cookies are not for dinner! Can't a 4 yr old child dress himself or eat food that isnt cut up into tiny peices? or drink from a sippy cup? my rules are always undermined! She takes him away from me to her mom's house so they spoil him, he comes back acting like a brat! And he expects a happy meal every time we pass mcdonalds! am i being too tough?

I am interested in purchasing the Newborn Wonder Playbaby by Lee Middleton. Do you have any reviews, opinions or comments on this doll? Is it soft, cuddly, lovable, etc? Is it safe for an 18 month old? I've "googled" it but cant find anything specifically addressing wheter or not this is an appropriate toy for my child.

hes 2 and a quater, and hes going through this horrid phase.if he wants a biscuit, he'll say "i want bic bic" over and over again. Also he doesn't have to particularly want something to say it. In the supermarket, hell say everything he sees, with the dreaded "i want". Its like he is incapable of sayng anything without those two words 1st! If we're going to his grandmas, on the way he'll say i want grandma over and over, even though i have explained thats were we are going. I can't bear it, i'm going loopy! I love him dearly, but this has got to stop!

My 18-month-old has a cold which always affects his sleep. He woke up an hour and a half early this morning (5:30 a.m) and was miserable but wouldn't go back to sleep. He fell asleep easily for his afternoon nap which normally lasts for 2-3 hours. He woke up crying after only an hour. This happend yesterday and I got him up but he was unbearable all afternoon. My question: would you just let him cry until he goes back to sleep? My only option would be to leave him in his crib because he never falls asleep by rocking, bottle, laying down with him, etc. Do you have this problem when your child gets a cold?

My one and half year old whines whenever she wants me to get her something, even if it is something that she could easily get herself. A lot of the things she wants, she knows how to say so I don't know why she doesn't use words. She just points and whines (her whine sounds similar to a machine gun). I can't take much more. How do I get her to stop?

Overall my son is very sweet, loving and has good manners(says please, thank you and excuse me appropriately) but he doesnt stop moving and talking, and he doesn't listen so well. Temper tantrums have become rare unless he's tired. I enrolled him in parent-tot gymnastics but he does not follow directions, if they are suppose to be doing rolls he runs off and plays with something else, it's almost like he gets bored, plus he's very curious. I take him to the library for storytime and crafts and he's the disruptive child (can't sit still on the mat not even for a minute, runs around the room, etc). He's very smart, talks very well for his age, but he's the child that Bill Cosby describes in "Bill Cosby Himself". I have to tell him things 5/6 times sometimes I have to raise my voice to get his attention. I thought he was just a normal 2 year old but seeing him around other kids his age, I'm not sure. I don't think he's adhd or anything but just don't know how to get him to calm down

My son is 2 1/2 yrs old. He was using a binky 24/7 for the first 9 months of his life, and now he only has it when he naps or goes to bed at night. When he naps at his sitters house, she doesn't allow him to use the binky. I would like to stop giving it to him, but I've already tried to hide it and tell him no more binky when he asks for it at bedtime, but then he freaks out crying and won't go to sleep. Any suggestions besides just letting him cry?

My husband and I disagree on this subject. Our son is 4 years old, and very bright. Hubby was made to help out at home from a young age, I was not. Hubby feels our lil one is too young for chores/allowance, that we should let him "be a kid". I feel we should begin to teach him responsibility early, and teach him about keeping a home, and a small allowance would be good motivation for this. I'm not talking about big duties here...picking up his room, bringing his dishes to the sink, feeding the dog, etc, small jobs that he has demonstrated that he is capable of. I'm curious about other parents' thoughts on this subject. Thanks to all who answer.

Im a stay at home mom of a 4yr old son will be 5yrs soon. He has just started preschool this year and was doing fine the first couple of weeks, amd then it all went down hill from there! He cries when I drop him off, and he doesnt want to go at all. He has never had a problem socializing, or seperating from me up until this point. I do believe he has seperation anxiety, but the question is is how to make it easier on both of us? I have tried bribeing him with fun things and everything I can possibly think of and it doesn't seem to be getting any easier! Please Help Me! For anyone who has ever had this problem it is a very dificult situation for a mom that so loves her child dearly, please help!

It's not a diaper rash but more of patches of irritated skin on my daughters bum. She is potty trained. Has any ones else dealt with this before and how do you treat it. Or could it be the laundry soap, I use Gain Fruit Fusion, I have used this kind before she was potty trained still in Pull Ups but this is the first since she has been in panties.

I have a 2 and a half year old daughter (she'll be 3 in December) and she does not take medication at all? By medication I mean for the common cold or for a fever or something like that. I have tried so many different ways but nothing seems to work. Do you think that it is okay to mix the medication with a bit of water? Or do you think that the medication wont be effective that way? Any ideas?
Thanks!
