I would think using a flanel shirt and jeans and attaching some straw at the cuffs, pockets and hems would make a fine scarecrow. Add a funky hat and you are all set. Maybe a little face painting to look like patches would be cute too. Here are a few sites that I just looked up quick for some photos or ideas.

I did this for my son a few years ago I went to the goodwill and bought an old pair of overalls cut the bottom of the pant legs A little thin I glued raffia at the bottom we took one of his old butten up shirts and did the same . we found an old staw hat glued yarn to make his hair painted his face up cute
