I have a 4 year old that seems to be headed down the wrong path at age 4. In the past few months things have taken a sharp turn for the worst and I worried about the years to come. He is lying, overly stubborn, and manipulative. I have tried everything nothing seems to help. I have set up boundaries/ rules that have been in place all of his life. Any ideas on books would be helpful. I don’t want smash is sprit but I do want him know that are rules in life that have to be fallowed. Things we have tried are time out, grounding/ taking a way things or privileges and spanking. What else is there? I do give him positive attention when he does has as he was told or when it is warranted.

I'm so afraid that my 7 mo. old daughter will grow up and think of me as a loser. I didn't have money to finish college and I work two jobs, at a Chiropractic office and at night at a grocery store.

I have this fear that she will think I am the biggest loser. I love her so much and want so much more for her. I don't want her to grow up and be like me. How do I ensure my daughter will love me for who I am? Is there such a thing as unconditional love?

This is a tough one......Well, to be particularly fair, we live in a generation where we have technology and greater understanding in sciences like psychology, so I don't think that inflicting pain on anyone will help their disposition in any way, it may even just make them immune to pain, and wreckless.

I am a single parent to one high functioning autistic teenage son. recently I was sent in on a 72hr involuntary psych. hold. It was in a different county from where I live. I am concerned that CPS will be coming to my home just because of the hold and to make sure I am not unstable.
Does this automatically get reported if a parent is sent in by the police?
I am very anxious about the possibility. What should i prepare for? what will they be looking for? I am scared .....

I work weekends and my husband wants to join a club where he races most sundays. That is obvieously fine, but he wants my 2nd job (which is a corporate grocery store) to schedule me according to his racing schedule. I told him that is impossible because there are too many employees and I am esentially just a number. So he said we can hire his buddy's 12 year old to babysit. This didn't sit well with me because I feel it is too young and now he is SO mad at me because he wants to race. Please tell me what you think.

Ok, so I have 1 child of my own. And 1 dog, and 1 foster dog (who both are always on a lead, but one of them is very nervous with kids). Last summer, they were coming to my door (all 4 of them, ages 3-7) asking for something to drink, and eat. Walking right into my house, etc.!
How can I politely tell my neighbors that they need to keep their children in their yard..UNLESS they are invited over by me? I have attempted to tell these young kids that myself, over and over again. And if my dog bites them, it's my fault reguardless. And I need them to respect my yard and my child's things when they are left outside! They constantly remove her stuff from our yard, and I find them next door. Sometimes even as long as the next day.
And let me add, our yard isnt fenced in yet (hopefully after summer), and there are never any adults outside with them to watch them. So when my own daughter and myself go out to play, I wind up being their child sitter, because I'm the only adult out there! Help

My daughter, who is 17 has started seeing a guy that has a girl friend. I know this because this guy lives with his girlfriend and their two children. The girl friend goes to work and my daughter goes over.

How do I stop my daughter from seeing him.? I know this is wrong and have told her your not suppse to date someone elses boyfriend. I tell her is it not really dating, just her missing around with someone elses boyfriend.

She hints that she also knows this is wrong but still continues to go over to his house.

Some would say just ground her or tell her that she CAN NOT see him any more. BUT that will NOT work.

She will be 18 soon and tells me after that she can see anyone she wants and no one (meaning me) can do anything about it.

Yes, she still lives at home and NO, the she lives under my roof and has to do what I say will work with her either.

I can't call the cops on him cause he really has not done anything illegal.

Because I don't have Aloe or whatever and only have Jergans and its Scented.. [moms lotion].. so I dont want to hurt the sunburn and the sunburn better be gone by tommorow morning [very special day].

so yeah? 10 points

I live with my uncle, and his family. My 7 year old nephew had a friend over from his class. He was another 7 year old boy. The friend stayed over to sleep. I got so scared when I saw my uncle spanking my nephew in the middle of the night. My uncle doesn’t drink or anything, he was completely sober thinking clearly when he was spanking him in front of his friend. I asked my aunt why did he spanked him, and she told me because my nephew and his classmate were sleeping on the same bed. I tried talking to my uncle the next day, and he told me the boy needed to learn that’s not right. I feel so bad for my nephew, I think he’s doesn’t care about the spanking as much as for being spanked in front of his friend.

Is it right to spank a boy in this case?

I love my children so much, and if I didn't have them, I would just fall apart. My children show me that I can retake my own childhood and have fun. I just love having the excuse of eating mac and cheese, I have a hair dresser who doesn't charge anything...my two year old. Haha, I have the excuse of just going outside and playing/ walking with my children and staying healthy instead of staying inside embarrassed of what people might think of me. I'm glad my children don't care if I look like a zombie or if my car is dirty. When I'm at the play area's and I'm playing peak a boo with my 1 yr old, she gives me that heart stopping laugh and giggle. She doesn't care if I'm the only parent in a tunnel in the play place. My children swarm me and want my love and affection, and that makes me feel like the most important person. How about you?

I asked my dad for a new car and he said if I don't pull my grades up this semester he won't give it to me! I mean, I've been getting B's and how can I be expected to drive a Mustang when all my friends drive BMW's and Mercedes Benz! He is being so abusive and is making me the loser of the school!!!!! I hate my parents!!!! He has enough money because he is a doctor and gets my mom anything she wants. My dad is such a LOSER!!! HELP!

And no answers like I'm a spoiled rich girl because SO WHAT if I am. If my father has the money he should be spending it on me and not MY MOM!!!!!

my 6 year old daughter had a friend over this weekend and her friend had given my daughter diapers. I asked her friend why and I talked to her parents and said that her friend had problems and gave my daughter half of the diapers she had and that was about 14 packs. My daughters friend had told me that she gave my daughter diapers every time she comes over. She told me where the diapers were and that they use them for fun every time that she comes over I know my daughter has not started mensturating yet and I found out that they dispose of the dirty diapers out in the woods what should I do?

Staying at home taking care of children or leave them with someone else who takes care of them while you are at work.

This friend is pregnant and refuses to stop drinking, smoking cigarettes and marijuana. She also snorts coke. This is her third child (her mother cares for the other two), she about to be put out, lights off, can barely keep a steady job, no education and is 28 years old. She is sickening and everyday I check on her because I am worried about her. The other situation is - her partner is incarcerated (as are the other two dads), Her life is a mess, but I want to help. What are the chances that I can take her to court and try to adopt or foster parent this child. I know she will hate me, and I have already hinted that I would help her with the child, but I want this child to have a better chance in life. She doesn't like or want to read, she is totally selfish and really does not love this child otherwise she would not do this. What can I do? I would really like to have some responsible and knowledgeable, legal responses if possible. I am already on the foster parent list.

She whines and cries every second! The only time she is not unhappy is when she is sleeping and it takes her at least 1 hour of crying to get to sleep. Then she wakes up in the middle of the night at least twice every night! I try to play with her, entertain her, feed her, give her Tylenol (in case it's teething or something), I keep her diaper changed, I have taken her to the doctor even and she has a clean bill of health! Today I was so frustrated, I put her in her crib and left her crying because I didn't know what else to do!
