My son is 11 and my oldest child and I have no clue when is the proper time and how far do I go? Should I wait a while longer or talk now and just highlight on certain subjects. He is in the beginning stages of the big change and will be in junior high next year. I would like to have a few different opinions on the subject, seeing as how I am not ready for him to grow up and am a little clueless in this area. Thank you to those who respond.

I'd like some songs besides "In My Daughter's Eyes," and "My Little Girl," by Tim McGraw... Any other suggestions? Please keep it to country... Thank you for your answers!

In 1968 I had a girl born here at a home in Portland Oregon. I would like to be able to be placed in a position that if she wanted to ever know more about her biological Mother and Father, she could. Any ideas of what to do. I have tried so many things that I've run out of places to go to.

I am 4 months pregnant and my boyfriend of 4 years left me a month ago. He has blatantly denied being the father (an unfounded accusation, seeing as I haven't been with anyone else). He has not been there for me whatsoever. I recently found out he has a drug problem. He has a criminal record that includes possession, drug periphenalia, and so many speeding tickets (15+ over speed limit). Should I ask for child support? I want him to have to help me financially, but I do not trust him (nor his mother) alone with my child. Given his record and unwillingness to cooperate, would it be possible to get supervised visitation?

I'm 19 years old, a college student and a single father. I have a year old daughter, Rina. In the last 6ms I've gone out with 3 girls, all of which who completely freaked out when they learned that I was a father. I don't understand what the big deal is...I'm not asking for a mother for my kid at 19.
Honestly, if you were 19, would you ever date a 19 year old guy with a year old daughter? What about at age 23, dating a 23 year old guy with a 4 year old daughter? Why?

I'm 21 and I've known for awhile that I will never be able to have children and I have been okay with the idea of adoption but everyone constantly tells me I should be more upset about not passing a bloodline and taking on someone else's children...I am ok with this in fact I look forward to it someday in the future....are there any other women that have just come to terms with not having children or am I weird for thinking this way?!

I'm the dad of an 11 year old girl & i feel its time I gave her some advise on puberty, sexuality, becoming a teenager & just growing up etc. I still think of her as my little girl but time moves on for all of us. So can you give me some pointers & maybe some advice that you found useful when you were at this stage of your life, even the name of books on the subject or web sites as I'm having difficulty in knowing how to approach the subject.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

My boyfriend and I just started going out last week. We are both really close. Me and him were having a serious conversation when I brought up that he thinks hiis dad may be abusing him. He toled me his dad leans him over his desk every night and uses the cane really hard on him. He was like " I don't cry, I've gotten used to the pain." He said that his dad will make up excuses to hit him but will never touch his younger brother of 14. He toled me not to tell, I refused but he begged. I don't know what to do, he hides it, no one will ever find out. We are both 16 and from the UK. Oh, and I found a video on youtube. I've never been spanked so I don't know what he's going through. I searched corporal punishment on youtube and found a video that looks a lot like what he was describing. I showed him and he said thats almost exactly what it's like with his dad but his dad hits him a longer time. Look at the video: http://youtube.com/watchv=_l_kymx9qqq...

My 2 year old daughter is a thumb sucker. Neither of my other 2 kids ever sucked their thumbs so I am not familiar with this issue at all but she has developed a rather large callous on the top knuckle of her thumb. She doesn't suck her thumb during the day at all, only when she lays down to nap or go to bed. Will this callous go away on its own or is there something I need to do to make sure it heals properly? I don't mind her sucking her thumb at this point because she only does it to fall asleep so, please, no "stop the thumb-sucking" answers.

Because I am expecting... And I am not sure if i am going to be good mom.. I can not teach my kids much.. because I believe that i am not that smart with spelling and pronouns words... and I feel that i am ready but scary to be.. because it another thing to worry... if i know my parents is going to help teach my child. but i feel that i am not going to be success with raising my own child(I have work with kids beforewhen i was younger in life) with my husband and not be able to teach a lot to my kids from what i know. I have to get my permit and get car. (scary of it because i have fail once) I am just worry if i am going to be good mom... if i can learn from my mom.. but my mom complains about everything about me and i am sick of it.. and she doesn't stop.. The only thing my mom teach me was manners beign outside and being polite and dress nice, and have respects for elders and family mostly come first in life.. and teach me how to be success ful in life..

Ok I had my baby on september 22 2006, Im 18 and you wouldnt believe the looks i've been getting. Why do people I dont know look at me like having my baby was a bad thing. Having a baby is one of the best things that every happened to me (besides meeting my soulmate). If it wasnt for my daughter I dont think that I would live to see this day. Shes made my life worth living and ever since she was born i am less depressed than befor. Just because of my age doesnt mean I should be treated less worthy than older parents. Why do some older parents look at being a young parent as a bad thing?

Me and my fiancee (we are 17) live together and recently my fiancee was raped by two men who broke in our house. Since then she has slept with me (normally we slept in seperate beds becasue we are not legally married yet) but didnt like physical contact. Last night we had sex for the first time since she was raped. We showered together this morning and I told my friend about it and he said that by sleeping together, having sex prior to our wedding (which is two weeks away on Easter), and showering together we are setting a bad example for my 3 year old daughter (from a past girlfriend) who lives with us. I disagree. First my faincee is so shook up over her rape she is afraid to be alone so all we do together is necessary. The wedding is so close and we have lived together for four months now and my daughter calls my fiancee "mom" even those she isnt her mother. So I feel we are doing nothing wrong. What do you all say?

I can't stop him using a dummy for bed, he does not use it any other time of the day except at night. When i have tried to stop he stays awake really late and won't sleep.
