I'm 21 and I've known for awhile that I will never be able to have children and I have been okay with the idea of adoption but everyone constantly tells me I should be more upset about not passing a bloodline and taking on someone else's children...I am ok with this in fact I look forward to it someday in the future....are there any other women that have just come to terms with not having children or am I weird for thinking this way?!

My dad and I share no DNA, but he is and always will be my dad. The SOB with whom I share DNA will never by my dad. One has never let me down and the other refused to be there. Bravo to you for understanding the difference and desiring to be a parent for the right reasons. Our DNA is biologically diverse enough, the human race would benefit more from people helping those in need than from worrying about bloodlines.

I think it is great that you have accepted the fact that you can't have children of you own, so well. I also think that it is wonderful that you are ok with the idea of adoption. There are so many beautiful little children in the world that need parents.

I have 3 children i have given birth too so i am "Lucky" in that sense. But when my children are older i would also like to adopt an older child. It is great that your outlook is so good.

By adopting a child you are making a differnce in a little ones life. It is amazing. Babies who are adopted diffently get to have a better life then they would of otherwise

I think it is fine to not have children, adoption is a great way to help kids, and they are 'your kids' who cares about a blood line. In reality, forever ago, we all came from the same people...talk about a bloodline.

I think it's great that you have some peace on the subject and I can't believe that there are people around you telling you that you ought to be more upset. Do you ask them if they want to see you crying and depressed, would that make THEM feel better? Silly people.
