my daughter will be 13 next month and I was wondering if I should let her start dating...even though I think she already has started, She is really social and she is always hanging out with boys and girls who cling to each other and I have seen her hug some of the boys in her 'clique'....should I let her date?

Like thumb sucking, cuddles , wanting a baby's bottle etc. and slight bedwetting; despite me saying she's a big girl with reassuarnces, she keeps wanting to wear nappies.

She was ecstatic to know she was going to use double towelling nappies (thicker and bigger than baby size). But it seemed to have have aggrevated her night time wetting as her towelling is saturated every morning, sometimes requiring a soaker/extra nappy change at night. She insists on me changing her, even outside and never has her nappy been dry for more than 1 hr. She's going through 5-7 nappy changes a day at weekends and 2-3 during weekdays (cos of school). When I try to take her out of them, she cries and starts to wet- I dont know if it's a genuine or cos. she wants nappies.
Nappies keep her dry and comfy but would it be difficult for her to loose them in future ? Can nappies make her wetting worse ? what's the best way forward cos. nothing I say seems to embarass her and she keeps wetting in them.

My husband and I have 2 kids, a boy & a girl, ages 6 & 4. We aren't on the same page about disciplining. My husband was in the army so he's very tough with the kids and believes in yelling, spanking etc. I am a total softie and the kids walk all over me. I'm scared to punish them, I feel bad!
What can I do, I don't feel right about punishing.

I have a 13 year old who has just had a huge falling out with her best friend. My daughter had a big birthday party at the weekend and her best friend stayed over from Friday to last night. Everything was fine between them, as far as we knew and as far as my daughter knew but today her best friends has turned on her saying very nasty things like I haven't liked you for ages and all you do is talk about yourself. This has come out of the bluye for my daughter as she doesn't know what she has done wrong. her best friend is also saying that my daughter ignored her at the party and left her out while she was dancing etc with other friends. However, my daughter was actually trying to include her.
I'm not saying my daughter's an angel because she's not but she's not as nasty as this girl is making her out to be.
What advise can i give her other than these things happen? She is really upset by what this girl has done and said.

Yesterday i asked my friend out to the movies, she said yes. Then i told her that it will happen in May when Spider-Man 3 comes out, if that is fine with you. She said ok i will bring my cousin Jaycee. Then i said ok i am looking forward to it. She said ok, i will your mom and ask her where is the best place to meet, what time to meet for the movie, what are the times that the movie starts, and that i will buy the tickets and the popcorn with the drinks.

Question: If a guy has a crush on a girl, can the girl know how the guy feels about her? -or- Does the guy have to express his personal feelings toward her? Cause i am always thinking about my friend however, i want to be honest with her by telling her that i love her and that i have been thinking about her. How can i tell her about my personal feelings toward her WITHOUT TRYING TO CREEP HER OUT? How can i try to go out with her more often?

All other options have been exhausted, time outs didn't work, taking away priviliges didn't work, talking to them didn't work so what else is there to do? Spanking is not child abuse, it is a form of discipline, take the military for example. If a soldier is out of line, many times they punish him by making him do physical things, such as push ups. A spank is nothing more than push ups to a soldier, it is a form of discipline that is not abuse or mistreatment. This new generation of kids is growing to be disrespectful and destructive because parents don't take responsibility and the ones that do are acused of child abuse for a simple spank and have to live through an ordeal of having their children taken away. So what is the solution?

My daughter is only 3 1/2 and she is alrady as big as a 4 1/2 almost 5 year old. I am predicting that she is going to be between 5'11" and 6'1" by the time she stops growing. Every girl I know that is taller than 5'7" hates it, and wishes they were shorter. Is there any way that I can start teaching my daughter now that being a tall girl is not a bad thing??? At the moment she want to be "tall like daddy", I am 6'4". How can I help her keep that mentality, since I know she will be taller than average girls, AND taller than a lot of guys.

My fiance and I have been together for 6 years and we have a 3 year old son. We got into an argument about a hypothetical situation and I'd like to know what everyone else thinks about it.
He said he would break up with me but remain a father to our son if a paternity test proved he was NOT the father. He said It would be completely immoral if I pursued finding out who his real father was. I grew up without a father so I'm a real advocate for father-child relationships so I said I dont care what you think, I would try and find my son's real father so he can know him. My fiance then tells me it's selfish for me to do that when he has a perfectly good father who loves him, and that I would only be doing it to fulfill my own needs. He says there is no reason to take a chance on another man not loving our son, and our son growing up with low self-esteem or developing a complex. I think it would basically be his way of me paying him back for having another man's child.
What do you think?

like Robin, Joy, Kelvin, April, Summer, Wednesday, Latoya, Latisha, Lashondra, Lakisha, "Jesus saves," "giving thanks to God forever," "God is the only God," etc?

I don't know how to ask this question except to say that I just don't understand why a lot of parents choose names like these (with good intentions, even!).

My friend decided to physically escort her 12 year old daughter out of the mall a few weekends ago, only because her daughter refused to leave at their agreed upon time to be picked up.
It looked bad enough that people called the cops cause they thought her daughter was getting kidnapped, and on the way home the helicopters spotlighted their car and
the news channels were there and my friend got 15 mins of fame, for being a kidnapper. Then everyone figured out it was the daughters fault, but she didnt care and laughed in her moms and the cops faces, and told her mom to f off.
My friend (the mom) felt she had no other choices except to make her daughter leave. she felt if she didnt make her leave then her daughter would continue to walk all over her and just get worse.
What do you think?Did my friend make the right decision as far as physically making her leave the mall? what would you have have done in that situation, if your kid wasn't minding you and only 12 years old?

My girlfriend's 2 kids seem to be totally out of control for her. They are boys ages 10 and 11. The kids don't respect her or obey anything she says. The kids constantly bite and hit her, pull her hair, cuss at her, call her names, and throw things. She does not want to discipline the kids with spankings; she tries to reason with the kids by talking to them or taking away their video games for a short period of time. But, this seems to have no impact. Any ideas for handling such children?

We recently moved to Florida from Wisconsin. Unfortunately all of our relatives are either in WI or in France. I know that kids this age don't care too much about a big bash, but birthday parties involving family have always been a big tradition with me and my family. How can I make her B-day special knowing that there will be no extended family to share it with?

Please, please some advice.... I have2 boys and then lucky me-had a daughter. The problem is she has been quite difficult from day one. She is 4 1/2 years old and she whines and cries constantly-every day-all day. I make sure she gets naps and plenty of sleep, she takes naps at pre-school but nothing and I mean nothing makes this child happy. I have taken her to the doctor to rule out any kind of medical problem so I know its not that. I guess I am just wondering if there are any other moms with little girls who have the same problem. Is it just the difference between boys and girls or is my daughter an exception to the rule? Please help me, it is getting to the point where I don't like being around my own child....her incessant whining drives us all nuts.....

I am thirty one. I have a son who will be three in a months time. I love him very much yet I have no maternal instinct. I feel like I am a nanny or babysitter when I am with him instead of his mother. I am ashamed that I feel this way. He was not unplanned. I am married and have a wonderful husband, a beautiful house, and a fantastic career but I don't think I am as connected to my son as I should be. I see other mothers gushing over their children and wanting to be home with them but I just don't feel that way. I spend as much time with him as I can but I have never gotten too attached. My son deserves a mother that is crazy about him. He is a beautiful, charming, intelligent, and well behaved boy. What is wrong with me?

Me and my girlfriend had been dating for over 2 years and we pretty much know we are going to get married and stuff, but we always have issues on how kids should be raised. Using my 4 year old sister were always in a disagreement on how to raise her. Specially during babysitting duties.

She believes in hiding a child from violence and all that stuff but I on the other hand have a different idea. I believe that its ok for kids to see some type of violence on tv. I dont condone it but if she happens to see it I explain to her that its wrong. My girlfriend thinks that its not the right way to approach it.

She kept telling me that when we have kids we are going to raise him or her her way. But I dont neccesarily agree. Will this become a major issue in the future?
