We recently moved to Florida from Wisconsin. Unfortunately all of our relatives are either in WI or in France. I know that kids this age don't care too much about a big bash, but birthday parties involving family have always been a big tradition with me and my family. How can I make her B-day special knowing that there will be no extended family to share it with?

Hello, well at that age kids dont know what is a birthday party. But if you want to make it a routine every year to celebrate it , just invite over a few ppl you know that have kids if you have no family near you. i didnt have any family, just invited 4 close friends and they had kids older like 6 and 12, but my son was the attraction of the party of course, he enjoyed the afternoon with the 2 girls ..he was the king for a day!

I decorated my whole living room with thomas the tank engine, which is my son fave character at the moment , chips, food, drinks, candy and of course the birthday cake!

You should do the same with your princess. If you dont have nobody to invite ,go to Chilis, Applebee's,Chicago Uno Bar and Grill and let the waitress know its your daughter b-day and they will sing her happy birthday and bring her dessert with a candle!

Invite friends that you know from work or something that have kids around her age. Then get a pinata that you pull a sting to open. It is a lot of fun for kids that age. To keep your family involved maybe try to do a web cam conference (if you have the equipment), your little girl may only be 2 but my two year old loves it when he can see family on the computer. Your family can sing happy birthday and talk to your daughter that way. Have fun at her birthday!!
