Call me paranoid, but I am against the tracking of humans, whether it be in shoes, in jewelry, or under the skin... if I can hop online and see where my kid's shoes are, so can hacker-predators, so can the government, etc.
I only trust myself to protect my child.
(I also don't buy name-brand crap, so you could stick wings and rockets on the shoes, I wouldn't buy them, sorry.)

That's a great idea, most children that are kidnapped the kidnapper will change the clothing but not the shoes. I don't think that it should necessarily brand name shoe but like everyone else has said something affordable. I think you should carry your idea up to older kids as well, 6 to 12 have a more likely chance of being abducted since they have a little more freedom. I would defiantly buy them for my children ( 8 and 6)

I think that is an excellent idea! The only problem is that it would have to be inexpensive. Children grow out of shoes so quickly. My daughter will go through three sizes in a year! Maybe a thought would be to remove the GPS so it can be reused in different shoes. Buy the GPS once, buy whatever shoes you like...yes! That's the answer! GL!

Oh definitely, as long as I could afford it. I've been thinking about this issue for a long time. My biggest fear is that my children will be abducted or get lost. Children are being kidnapped right in front of their own homes, and from their own bedrooms. Some sort of tracking device would be a great tool for any parent. There is one cell phone plan that has a tracking feature. "You know where I'm at" is the catch phrase. Go for it. Lisa.

i would not. If a baby have been kidnapped, which i'm guessing is the objective of the product, the abductor would do away with the footwear if it have been many times properly-known that GPS locators have been being imbedded in footwear. putting gps footwear on alzheimer sufferers could be greater smart! there became a time or 2 while it might have helped us discover grandma quicker. :)

Well, 2 is a little young for a gps tracker, but these days, yeah I would buy it. Here in my town we just buried Christopher Barrios (6 y.o., kidnapped and tortured by a neighbor). Perhaps if he had these shoes, he would have been saved.

It really depends on the price. I would love for my child to have a tracker but nikes are too expensive as it is. I would find other things that are more important.

Yes I would but I would also want a way for a device to be on the parent at all times so when the child has moved out of an area that he was supposed to be in an alert can be sent.

awesome idea! i had a scare back when my son was 2, he got away from the babysitter before i got home from work and followed some kids down the train tracks, luckily he turned around and wandered home again before the dayliner came by, the police and i spotted him at the same time... that hour he was missing i would've given ANYTHING to know where he was so i could run and find him
