If I had the choice between the two without financially killing me, I'd choose being home with my daughter in a second.

I'd still work, from home or during her school hours. But nothing would make me happier than to remove "daycare" from our vocabulary forever. I don't look at caring for my daughter as my "job", as some describe. It's a joy, a blessing, the reason I'm here.

I like to have some balance of both. I work out of the home 2 days a week, when my children go to daycare and preschool. The other 5 days a week I am home with them. I find the mix allows me to stay current in my professional life and enjoy the benefits of some income, as well as enjoy the life of a stay at home mom.

I think if you can you should stay home with your children. I have 5 kids and I stayed at home with them all. There is so much you will miss by leaving them at a young age let alone finding someone you can really trust to leave them with.

Well, I chose to be a stay at home mom. My mom left me in care with my father, and let's just say that didn't work out. I trust my husband, that's about it...I love staying at home because I would miss every word my 1 and 2yr old utters and I would become upset. Yesterday it was my daughter's birthday, and my inlaws asked to take my son for the night, and I broke down in tears when I saw the car drive off. Working moms have it hard, my hats off to them.

I have been on both sides and after living as a SAHM for the past 4 years I have learned, through experience, that it is not our JOB to raise our children, but our DUTY, to them. God gave us these little angels, it is our responsibility to give them ALL of us. If we are going to take on the responsibility of HAVING children, we should be more than willing, no matter what the consequences are, to take on the responsibility of RAISING them too.

I love being able to stay home and take care of my babies. I know it is not always possible for a mommy to stay home and I am thankful that I can.

Taking care of children of course. That's a woman's job if she has small children she should stay home and raise them.

That is a tough one. I have done both. right now I am a sahm and it's harder than I thought. If it weren't such a financial strain on our family, I would love to be at home.
