1st off, I have an 8 year old boy, 6 year old daughter and almost 5 year old boy. My daughter (6) has always been a difficult child, even as a newborn. Lately, she has started lying, to get out of trouble. I can hardly trust a word that comes out of her mouth. And when she gets in trouble, she puts up a hudge fight! And cries about what ever she is in trouble about for ever! My other two kids (boys age 8 and 5) obey pretty well, go to their room when told, and I dont have a prob. with them talking back. I fell like I have to be so hard on her. I just want her to act right, mind her father and I, and not throw temper tantrums. Sometimes she gets me so upset, I have to send her to her room and just let her scream, and I go out side, so I can ignor her, because I know that if I go in to deal with her, she will have me so upset, that I will hurt her!
Thanks for any advise!

Our 7 year old autistic child has the occasional night time accident. The problem is that he loves playing with plastic. If we put down a traditional mattress liner, he will rip up the sheets, find the plastic and shred it within a couple of nights. He likes playing with strips of plastic. We tried a heavy grade plastic from a hardware store, but he found that and tore it up as well. Any ideas on something that will product the bed; be comfortable enough to sleep on, yet he can't tear up?

A democratic assembly woman Sally Lieber's new proposal would make, hitting and slapping a child under 4 years old a misdemeanor. Adults could face up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

when they turned 18? and did you hate your parents for doing that to you?

2007-01-19 23:06:25 · 2 answers · asked by Anonymous

Thank Goodness there are still parents with a good enough head on their shoulders to vote this down. Granted it has to get passed Schwarzenegger (which I doubt he will turn is back on the people who put him there)

Lastly looking at this poll in the most liberal area of California (the bay area) It looks like parents who use spanking as a corrective tool are safe, at least for now they are.

This congresswoman is messing with the wrong people. 91% of the people out there would not want this law, because either they (like me) believe in spanking, and use it with their children. Or they don't want the government telling us how to raise our children. Either way I will be happy when this bill finds it rightful place, THE TRASH CAN
Who's with me!!!

Also did you know, this woman has NO children. lol

I'm a little imtimidated because I'm considering going back to college and attending nursing school. The thing is by the time I get my prerequisites done and I enter into the nursing program I'll be 38. And I'll be 40 when I actually become a nurse if all goes as planned. I'm a little concerned because I have a young son who is 2 & 1/2 and I've been a stay at home Mom (apart from a few hours in class during the weeks here and there - going to school part-time)... and I'm concerned about how much time I'm goign to have to devote to schooling and how that will affect him. Anyone going through this or any words of encouragement. Thanks.

I am trying so hard lately not to "party" or drink...the hard part is... I feel like I am missing out.. I keep getting text messages about all the fun events not going on that I am invited to. It is so hard because I am trying to focus on being a Mom and focus on my career and my responsibilites, but my FRIENDS want me to go out and party with them constantly. I am 31 years old, single, and I have a seven year old daughter.. is it WRONG for me to go out to clubs? Whenever I do, I feel all guilty even though I NEVER leave with a guy, and when I don't I feel like I am putting myself in a cage. is it wrong for me to party? I feel confused about this...

Here is my case.My 14-year-old daughter really liked one guy from school,he is 17.He invited her to a party 2 weeks ago and she went but after he and some his friends got drunk, they didn't let her go home(it was during day while they had to be at school) and tied her hands to a bed.One of them covered her mouth and another tore her clothes and they raped her several times(she was virgin). She is very ashamed and doesn't want the whole school to know about it.The boys continue going to school. She doesn't want to tell anyone and eels very ashamed. She didn't want to go to the doctor either and I can't make her go.Since then she started pissing every night in her bed(she goes to the bathroom every evening of course).I can't make her go to councelling or anything. What should I do???And is it normal to be so stressed to piss in the panties?

I love her with every breath in me and i need to know what I can do .She's in this pretty much of a white school and the girls are really aweful!!She's mixed white and spanish and always hung out with mostly white girls. These suburb girls call her niger, mexican, fat ***. The principal wont even address the racial slurs is that illegal? My daughter works out so she can lose her weight and she straightens her hair not to look pretty but I think to be like the white girls. I am her mother and I have always encouraged her to friends of both races of all races because I do.Were a small family and dad has noone here from his country so she has noone to relate to.But my HUGE question please how can I get the school to reconize that the kids can't be calling out racial names. And throwing her lunch on the floor!!She has no confidence being overweight and the the girls are so mean. And she is so quiet I told her yell at them knock them out don't let them treat you this way.please before i lose her

O.K its raining outside and I have 3 boys aged 6, 3 and 7 months. The older two have turned the house into a tip with all their toys (they can't play outside so what else to do???) I just yelled at them and told them to clean it up a bit, as I had to step over all the mess with the baby in my arms. But now I feel guilty. Kids are kids, which is why I am wondering. Am I being harsh expecting young kids to keep their toys cleaned up after playing with them, or should I let them have the mess??? What do you think?

OMG....seriously.......OMFG.....idots are actually trying to pass this one through in California. The goverment is actually going to try to fine me for disciplining my child? Next they will make it mandatory to read books and say prayers at bedtime, Not that Im opposed to doing those things mind you, but who in the goverment has the right to tell me how to raise the children that I chose to birth and care for. Give me a BREAK anyone out there think its a good law?

Women get slammed for having a baby at 18 or at 40. We get slammed for breastfeeding or choocing to use formula. We get slammed if we work or if we stay at home with our kids. We get slammed if we spank or use time-out. We get slammed if we use daycare or if we don't use daycare. We get slammed if we're divorced or in a non-marriage relationship. We get judged if we waited until marraige for sex or if we chose to have premarital sex. Why? Aren't we all parents that care about our kids more than anything? Aren't we all doing what we feel is best for our children? What does all of this have to do with the type of parent we are? I may be venting just a little, but I had to get this off of my chest.

My age is 30, my wife is 23 and we have a son 2 years old. I am a government servant with limited income and our ambition is to make our son a pilot (aviation). For this we have to accumulate huge savings. But by this, we cannot dream of second child (boy or girl). Will my son in future curse us for not giving him a brother/ sister ? Please guide us.

what is the deal with parents not know their daughters are pregnant. Hello ?
Don't you grocery shop and buy their feminine napkins and or tampons or don't you notice they haven't had a period or they've gained weight?
I know back in the day when my older sister got knocked up, my mother was ontop of her asking her questions and got it out of her that she was casue my mother was watching and being there and knew something was amiss
are parents just so busy they don't notice their childrens changes?

I have a 9 yr old son that seems to be having some self-control issues (huffing/puffing), anger management, etc., at school/ home. If things do not go his way, he back talks whoever & whatever may be in the same room at that time. He makes wonderful grades (honor roll all this year)! He just can't seem to grasp that he is NOT boss & I don't know where to turn to at this point, to get the proper help for him.
He is not the only child, however, his sister is 20 yrs old, who is married w/ a baby, who does not live in our home. But you would think he was the only child. There are no children for him to play with in our neighborhood & he is sooo dependent on me & his dad to entertain him. That is not possible, due to his dad working long hours & me being disabled. He doesn't pick up after himself like he should, & he can really make a mess w/ his stuff!!!

He had open heart surgery when he was 3 yrs old & I think we have literally spoiled our son rotten not realizing the dangers ahead.
