YEP! I'm a social worker and the majority of my clients are single moms.
As long as you have the financial means, clear records, good moral character, good health, suitable housing and adequate support.

Yes. I know 2 single people who adopted.
But be aware that you are not likely to be able to adopt a small child or baby. Most children who are up for adoption are older and have been through abuse, trauma or neglect.
They can therefore be difficult to get close to and to handle generally.
But good luck if you decide to go ahead. It would be great if more people were prepared to adopt these damaged children and give them a chance of a decent , stable home.
On the fostering side, most local authorities are desperate for foster parents, so as long as you meet their criteria you should be able to do this too.

I am not an expert, but I do know from a friend of mine that it is very hard for single women and men to adopt. Most adoption agencies prefer a two-person household. But maybe you should ask an agency what your chances are? You chances also depend on your income, where you live and if you have enough space, if you are proven not to be a psycho, etc.
Good luck!!

Yes! I would contact an adoption attorney. They have changed the laws so much now, that you don't have to be married or have a lot of money. I would contact a lawyer and find out all about your options. Good luck!!

It doesn't matter if your single or not, it matters that you are caring, loving and going to provide a stable home for a child. It doesn't even matter if you have a job, live on a council estate or anything like that.

There is nothing to stop you but a stable two parented family is deemed to be a better bet by the agencies that handle these things.
