my 18 year old son is possibly planing to have a baby with his 18 year old girl friend, or at the very least is having unprotected sex with her. he also is working out some minor ligal issues. he has stated that he is an adult and can do as he pleases and that we are getting into his bisness and that we should stop trying to tell him what to do. he has a good job but is close to losing it, he gets rides to and from work and at times rides from his girl frinds house to home by mom and dad. he has hurt his mothers feeling many times over his girl friend and she still tries to help him. i am sick of him hurting her and seeing her cry because of him. I have just givin he 3 months to plan and save so he could move out and be the adult he keeps claimeing he is. we both love him very much but as a father I know this is what should be done theres more to the story but not enough space here... what would you other fathers have done? am I being to tough in him?

We went 30-45 minutes to a nearby town and she wouldn't stop crying. my friend went to the back seat to sit next to her. But she still wouldn't stop crying. After she got out of the car seat she was fine. Back in crying and crying.

After we got back to her apartment she was still crying even though she was out. any ideas why?

*and no she wasn't hungry..we just ate, and not a dirty diaper she just changed her*

Where is the best place to buy kids toys for christmas?
I am buying for a varitey of ages (1, 2, 4, 5 and 9), and want to get good prices too. Suggestions on national chain stores with good selection and good prices would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am thinking of letting my son and his friend go together to a Panthers game this Sunday. We have season tickets. He has been really good lately, has been getting good grades, has cleaned up his back talk--all are a mighty feat for his age. His friend is a great kid. This makes me nervous so I'm curious what other moms would or would not do. Thanks.

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse... then it's blah blah blah... Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.... fill in the blanks my family would really appreciate it.. thanks.

My 6 year old daughter was invited over to a classmate's house last weekend. The girl had been to our house once and is really a sweet girl. Anyway, when I picked my daughter up the mother invited me in. The house was soooo filthy I was speechless. I'm not talking messy with toys, I'm talking disgusting and dirty! It smelled so bad I couldn't wait to leave. There was animal hair all over. The garbage pail was overflowing onto the floor. There were burn holes all over the carpet. There were just dirty dishes everywhere - in the kitchen, the living room. I could go on I could go on and on.
My daughter was invited over again this weekend and I told the mom we had other plans - I lied - I really don't want my daughter over there anymore. My daughter asked why she couldn't go this weekend and I just said because. Any suggestions on how to handle this? I told my daughter she could invite her over to OUR house anytime, but she still wants to know why she can't go over there. Thanks.

Too often do I hear:

"My mom won't let me ___ but I'm 18 even though I still live in her house, I think since I'm an adult I should be allowed."

I just don't get it. To me it seems obvious; if you don't like the rules then move out. Why do kids (or adults whatever you want to call them) expect to be able to run the household the moment they turn eighteen? Will you let your own children behave anyway they want while they are living in your home as adults?

If you're taking the kids/nephews/nieces/etc. to the beach, what do you do to get sand out of their trunks and booty's after?

I've seen moms actually take their kid by the shower pull from behind their trunks and just clean right their with their hands.

How do others handle this?

you see a very over weiight mother letting her son eat straight butter... I mean honestly... My sis and I were at a resturant and the mother ordered butter extra buter for her 2-3 year old child that was screaming for it. The child was approx 50 pounds. To give an idea of an average weight for this age I have a 3 year old that is 35 pounds and a 15 month old that is 17-23 pounds..

Well I finally did it today. For 3 months my husband and I have been threatening our son with a spanking. He has been completely out of control and this really was a last resort. We've always tried positive reenforcement, we've tried grounding, taking away his playstation and didn't get the results we wanted.

He broke a car window this afternoon and then lied about it even though his friend ratted him out. He then smarted off. I sent him to his room and told him he was getting spanked. I was thinking he might be too old for this but we've tried everything.

Anyway, I got up there and he immediately started struggling with me. I finally sat down and got his pants and underwear down. From a maturity standpoint he is still a little kid and seeing him reaffermed that. I pinned him good over my lap and let him have it. I spanked him about 15 times and judging from the fit he through he was sorry.

I've noticed a lot of people who are very much against daycare but then years later they send thier children off to public school. I guess I just don't understand the difference. I also don't understand why people are so rude working mothers who have no other choice then to send their child to daycare. Any Opinions?

My daughter is 10 years old, she always makes straight A's in school, does her chores, never talks back, and very respectful to authority and adults. She recently got a detention from laughing out loud in class. She does have a rather big mouth!! Should I punish her for this, and if so, how do you punish a child who hardly never does anything wrong?

Should my husband stop taking our almost 6 yr old daughter into the men's bathroom, instead waiting outside of the girls' while she goes? He does take both girls out without me (I work) and he noticed guys are starting to give them funny looks when he brings her into the men's bathroom.

I know a woman who has a 7 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. The children sleep in the same bed every night, naked. Not a stitch, not even underpants. Two nights ago I stopped by and they were already in bed. On my way to the bathroom I passed the bedroom and (in the words I overheard spoken by the children) they were taking turns "riding" each other. I am horrified and totally freaked out. The mom says we are born naked and being naked is natural. What do I do? Is this illegal or abusive or just creepy? Help!
