We went 30-45 minutes to a nearby town and she wouldn't stop crying. my friend went to the back seat to sit next to her. But she still wouldn't stop crying. After she got out of the car seat she was fine. Back in crying and crying.
After we got back to her apartment she was still crying even though she was out. any ideas why?
*and no she wasn't hungry..we just ate, and not a dirty diaper she just changed her*

she might have been too hot, in the car... or... had reaaally bad gas(when mine has bad gas, he likes being moved that usually quiets him) sooo... i mean there are lots of reason but id go with gas (depending on how old she is)

don't have expierance with a baby crying from being in a carseat however I had a problem with the bath to that same effect. She loved her baths but once she hit about 9mos old she screamed the whole time in a bath we couldn't figure out why she did this clear up until she was 3 1/2 yrs she then loved baths again. Maybe the carseat is too small for her maybe she wanted to be held. I don't know maybe she was cramped and needed to stretch and once u got her home she was so crameped it hurt her her mother could take her to a chiropractor maybe her back or neck is out of place and most chiropractors will adjust babies from about 1mo old I don't know something to check into. good luck

My son did this a couple of times... the first was in the first 2 and a half months of birth-he was colicky- cried for hours at a time no matter what..... the next was when we went to a store, and on the way back, he cried and cried... and we took him out, and he was fine, then had to put him back in, and he cried again- he settled down somewhat when my husband went back there with him. However, I feel it was his tummy- he sometimes gets really really bad tummy aches, so the only thing that helps him is to stand up with him. He also won't eat when he has bad tummy aches. so lot's of standing up holding him when he's this way. Not sure of her age though... my son was 11 months when this happened... he still gets tummy aches here and there, but not as bad.

My 12 month old son has this same problem. We think that maybe he has motion sickness. We've tried many things to comfort him in the car and sometimes giving him Cheerios works for a little while. The next time we go on a long trip, we plan to ask the doctor if there is something safe he can take for motion sickness to see if that helps.

The child could have developed mistrust issues maybe the mother at one point put her in a car seat tide her and maybe like a babysitter took her away and the mother didn't explain to the child that that babysitter would be watching her so that could have been traumatizing to the child so when she put there she thinks the mom is going away. Well i don't have the whole story but this is what i kinda understood from the story you told us.

Two out of my three kids hated their carseats!! They're necessary, but they're uncomfortable!
Maybe she could get her a toy bar that attaches over the seat so that she could have something to do while she's strapped. It's just the way of the world, and all kids are different.

sounds like she just doesn't like her carseat but do not loosen it!!!!!! Carseats are not effective unless they are tight you should be able to fit no more than 2 finger between the strap and the shoulder. It is probably uncomfortable because babies like to be sprawled out but it's safe and more comfortable than a body cast. Lots of babies and toddlers hate their carseats it's very normal but it is never okay to leave the straps off or loose or especially to take them out of the seat while driving.

maybe she had had enough of being lugged about and just wanted to get out and play. Some kids hate the car if there is nothing to do. There are so many reasons for this

Perhaps the car seat is very uncomfortable? Bunched up clothes, straps too tight? something pinching?

She could be uncomfortable. If she isnt out alot she could just be having a normal reaction to change... the carseat could also be too tight and uncomfortable for her.
