I'm sick and tired of it. My husband works with his dad in the morning learning construction to one day take over his dad's construction business, and has a uniform for that. He also works at his auto shop and has many uniforms for that. We own a hamper, but I don't think he realizes that we do. He just throws clothes all over the place and he throws the junk out of his pockets and leaves them all over the place. Wehn my house is clean before he comes home, I love it, and after it he asks me why don't I clean the house....It's because he trashes it when he gets home!!! My son and daughter don't make a of mess, it's my husband who drives me bonkers. I don't want to clean it every day, I'm just exhausted.

Yeah, it's technically called 'shitwork' - that's the term for work which has to be done every day all over again and therefore really achieves nothing, and it's also a term used to describe work which, when it is done well, is not noticeable. You don't walk into an office building and instantly think, Well, this has been well cleaned; you just expect it to be like that. Which makes it 'invisible' work. Read 'Wifework' by Susan Maushart for serious social research on housework and the percentage of a woman's life it actually takes up. Makes you think.

Oi. If I see another bottle that needs to be washed, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown! I'm a new mom whose husband is not often home (firefighter), and the minute the baby wakes up, there's something to clean. The minute my husband gets home, he leaves a mess in his wake enroute to the fridge or bathroom. The skin is actually peeling off my hands because they're in so much water and cleaner all day. But going on strike, even for a couple of hours, means that there is a huge amount of stuff to clean up when I want to do something of my own on my own private time, so I don't even bother trying that anymore.

It takes me roughly 15 minutes per room to clean and it takes the kids roughly 5 minutes to destroy it again... They are 3 times faster than I am, so yes it's an endless cycle and it sometimes threatens to drive me insane...
There are days I just let it all pile up until I get the kids to bed so I can clean a room and return to it 2-3 hours later when the rest is clean and miraculously the first room is clean still...
My mother told me recently her house actually remains clean for days after she cleans it... I can hardly wait for those days... Until then I am going for the semi-organized chaos decor, it's eclectic... LOL

Yes, I feel like that is all I do. Everytime I talk to my mom on the phone, which is everyday, she asks me what Im doing, and I always realize that all I ever say is that Im cleaning. I have 3 boys, my husband works out of town and Im pregnant and have been very sick and tired, so that has made it even harder on me. They arent that big of a help even though I feel like that is all Im saying to them too. Clean up this room, go pick up your toys, blah blah blah. Im tired of it. I need a maid! :)

I have two children and that is all I seem to do. I clean and clean and the kids go behind me and just mess it up again. I get very tired of cleaning all the time. As soon as you get up you know what your day is going to consist of CLEANING.

of course...who loves cleaning? but then, i also can't stand to walk around and hurt my foot on something left out...
i just divide up my chores so that i don't have too much to do everyday...i do vacuum and wash dishes everyday (or try to), but i divide up the other stuff throughout the week...and i make my husband deal with the trash--gathering it up and taking it out...
it can get tedious, but i'd rather do it than have a messy house... :) but it would be great if we had a "jetsons" house and could just press a button and everything got clean instantly or we had a robot to clean up for us!!!

YES!! It isn't so much my 2 year-old son that is making a mess, but my husband and my 2 step-kids (20 and 21 years-old) I swear they don't know how to pick up a sock or clean a toilet!

Boy do I. I feel like a slave to my family and get so feed up. What ticks me off the most is when I am running around doing a million different things and my husband is exercising his finger flipping through the channels.
