I am thinking of letting my son and his friend go together to a Panthers game this Sunday. We have season tickets. He has been really good lately, has been getting good grades, has cleaned up his back talk--all are a mighty feat for his age. His friend is a great kid. This makes me nervous so I'm curious what other moms would or would not do. Thanks.

Yes, he will be fine. You need to show a little faith in your young man since he is making efforts on his part. Just make sure there is a good backup plan for rides, contacts, etc. You are going to be nervous about letting him go, nothing will change that because you are mom. But if you don't let him go, you will regret it for not showing you have faith in him.

I think it really depends on how mature your son and his friend are. If they are both mature and don't "goof off" when they are together then let them go for it!! Keep the rules tight though, tell them to stay together the whole time not to go to the bathroom alone or any of that so they don't get seperated and if you have a cell phone you could let him borrow so they can contact you easily incase something comes up when they are there that would be a good idea too.
At age 15 I was emancipated and out living on my own, I have been living on my own ever since I am now 20.
At the same time I have a niece that is 15 years old right now and she couldn't be left anywhere alone for 5 minutes because of how immature she is. So I think the call is up to you (and your sons friends parents) since you know how mature they are.

To a professional game, yes. I would let them go to a middle school or high school game alone. I'm not a parent, but I would be afraid of people preying on two young teenagers and taking their money. There's not alot of supervison (people watching out for youngsters.) I would get seats for the boys if I could get a couple of seats a few rows back from them so I could watch after them without being right next to them. It's a compromise. He gets his freedom without feeling that your overbearing and you still get to make sure he's okay. Another option is if the boy has a responsible older brother or sister that's 16 or older and letting that person and a friend take the boys instead you.

My son is only 1 so I don't have the knowledge of a mom with older kids but I would say no. If they can not drive, or use a credit card, I would worry they would not be able to get out of trouble if a situation arose. A football game has a lot of people drinking, etc., it's not like a shopping mall.

14 is farrr farrr to young to go to a game like this. football games can be alot of fun however its not good to let children go by themselves. lots of people get drunk, they are loud and obnoxious, its easy to get lost and very easy to get hurt or something i wouldnt let my kid go i know that, and it also depends on the fans, the panther fans dont seem to bad, if it were a raider game i would say my child isnt going until they are 20 lol.

I would let them go with an uncle or older brother, but no way by themselves! You never know, weirdos and pervs all over just looking for those 2 boys alone!

Yes, it's too young. I've been to football games and sometimes it gets rowdy, esp. with some of the people who get drunk & they could easily be kidnapped, so in my opinion I wouldn't let them go alone....
