i just got divorced to a man that i was married to for 5 years, we have 3 kids together now he's saying he doesn't want to pay child support anymore. is it that easy for him to give up his rights? i feel horrible for my kids now knowing what kind of dad he really is. i think it would be best for the kids because they are young and maybe would forget about it but i don't think i should have to raise 3 kids on my own without any help. please help!

One of them is missing. I wouldn't normally worry, but he's an three hours past cerfew and we learned that my uncle (who had been abusing both of them) broke out of jail 4 hours ago.

My dad got really stressed out. I understand that, of course, but my other brother asked him a question and got punched in the eye, hard. He's freaking out (my brother). He comes from an abusive background.

I'm a mess. My mother is still at work and doesn't know, my dad's upstairs in his room, and the police won't start a search for my brother until tommorow morning (mostly because it is dark out.) I don't know what to do. Should I call my mom? Should I calm my brother down? I'm freaking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dad won't let me leave the house to search for my brother, either.

My dad is stresed out, not abusive. My uncle was abusive.

It seems that in some cultures, it is normal to have a Brady Bunch family. In more modern times, especially in America, it seems that many couples are opting to have 2-4 children. What do you think is a good # of children for a couple to have, based on economics, time needed for quality attention, etc etc

with my bf of 3 years. We have a child as well.
My bf is very controlling, doesnt want me to go back to school, doesnt like me having or wanting a job (right now Im a stay at home) doesnt like me seeing any friends I have or had, he calls me crazy and a mooch, and just plain mentally abuses me, he has also strnagled me when I was 8 months pregnant to the point where I couldnt breath, I know I should have left, I was scared.
He has hit me a few times as well for thinking Im cheating when I infact had never. He has a bad temper and is a very negative and angry man, his mother also beat him as a child and made him go to school in smelly clotes.
NOW...I am fed up with him, and I just want to leave, with my child.
He has threatned me a number of times that I wont get our child, that even now I am thinking about walking out without my kid, this man is destroying me and I dont know what to do, but I love my son sooo much...HELP.

Shall I marry guy who wants to take me far away to live?I love him.But he has a young (6 y.o.) son (his mother died)and I'm worried that if I marry and go with him far away to live I'll become just a baby-sitter for his son.How should I act with his child?Should I addopt him? Is that solution?I want to make it work like a family. Is that possible? The boy is very spoiled.
Yes, i know so many questions, but i think it's natural?

my daughter has really odd and unique yellow-white eyes.
sometimes she looks almost eerie, like a ghost.
she also has almost white skin, so really looks......well........dead, i guess.
sometimes when we are shopping she always picks clothes all one color, like no desighner labels, just a pale white no desighn skirt, or all black.
i think she will have even more of a hard time ajusting in her new school, shes starting middle school this year, and with those outfits im afraid kids will make fun of her, or just be scared.
should i intervene?

I've been trying to find a children's book about step-parent adoption and been unsuccessful. I made a slideshow for my daughter telling her adoption story and was wondering if I could get some feedback on it- is it how you would word it? Anything I should change? The link is below.

Are other moms as stressed as me? Sometimes I just want to give up! I know this is "Life" but come on now! My kids are always fighting - like cat and dog, the house seems like it's always a mess, no matter how long I clean it, then of course, there are meals to prepare, practices to take the kids too...then I am going to college now part time. My husband helps me with none of it, although I asked. AND...to make matters worse, I went to court the other day for a modification of child support for my son (i have two kids, one from a previoius relationship and another from this one) and all they could say is that I did not "work"? I WORK! The father of my son has NO kids and gets to do whatever the heck he wants. Why is it that us woman have to work - take care of the house, take care of the kids - be superwoman while the men can just sit on their butts? I'm sick of it! And very overhwelmed. I am working hard all the time.

A school in Texas said a pre schooler "sexually harassed his teacher" because he hugged her, and apparently nuzzled his head against her chest. I thibk he was too young to understand- let alone have it be sexual. What do you think?

My sons are 6 & 8. When we go places people tell me I have such good and well behaved kids, but at home it's a different story. In the mornings the six year old won't get up for school. I don't want to be late for work so I give in and get him dressed my self. When they get home from school they throw their jackets and shoes on the floor. When I tell them to put them away , they ignore me. They won't clean their room, they talk back, they yell at me, they fight with each other, they eat in their room, and if I buy them something, it's either broke or lost the next day. I feel like I am constantly YELLING at them and I don't want to be that kind of parent ,but it's the only way they'll listen. Now the yelling hasn't even been working. I've taken away the t.v, x-box, put them in the corner, sat down and had a eye-to-eye conversation with them, spanked them, offered allowence and nothing works. Please give me some suggestions on what I'm doing wrong.

About a week ago, my son started getting up in the night - usually before 12 a.m. He will cry and sit up and in his crib. We wait to go in there and after while we go in there to comfort hmi. He likes to be held and then when we put him down, he crys bloody murder. I don't know if this is a habit for him or if he is teething. I have two older daughters and they never did this so I am a bit confused. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate you answering my questions. Thanks!

My son can't seem to decide if he is left-handed or right-handed. He uses both from time to time. At kindergarden the teacher says he's right-handed. But he writes certain letters in the left-handed way. And, his writing and drawing skill is behind his peers. Surely there must be ways of finding out. Help!

I sponsored my husband’s 14 yo son from a 1st marriage to come to the USA from an impoverished African country due to both his parent’s request that I do so "to give him a much better life”. 1st week here stepson was hateful and contemptuous towards me, openly mocked me in his language and English and told me “Most Americans are stupid and greedy people.” SS's father either accused me of lying or just did nothing! He refuses to give letters to us from his teachers and vice versa saying it’s “not your business what I do in school”. Last night I asked him to go to his room b/c he was mocking me repeatedly. He said, “You want to make me?!” I grab him, he pushed me, I put him out. His father, yelled at him for a minute, telling me later that we will "probably need to divorce" due to this. No one has the $$ to leave for 3 mo. Today SS is same. Glaring at me contemptuously, talking over me when I speak, etc. can I have him removed by a child-protection agency...? Law Enfocement? It's my apt.

I met my husband when I was 2 months pregnant. We weren't married at the time and when my daughter was born he signed the birth certificate and voluntary acknowledgement of paternity papers (what a non married parent signs in our state to acknowledge paternity). She also has our last name. She's now 2 and all of a sudden her "sperm donor" tells me I should give him a right to see her and be a part of her life. She already has a father that's been there since day one and I'm not about to complicate her life for someone that never had the time of day to even call and see how she was or ask what she looked like all this time. Do you think I've made the right decision?

I just wonder about you, other parents, how often does your child have some privacy and isn't followed after.I have a 6-year-old and usually let her stay alone at home for 2 or 3 hours or I stay at home and if she wants, she goes out.How long are you out when you leave your 6-year-old alone at home and how long do you let your children play outside with no supervision?
