Do yourself a favor and instead of waiting until he grows up, tell him when it is time to start talking to him about the consequences of unprotected sex. Sex should be a part of conversation from the time the child asks about it. Let him know what happened to you and how difficult it was to be a mother at that age when you still needed mothering yourself. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL HE IS OLDER.

Of course the truth, but in steps. Decide how old you think he should be before a discussion of the subject is warranted. Take in to consideration his maturity level to digest and understand all you need to tell him. The first step would be to just tell him 14. Later as he matures, consider detail information as to why you chose to be sexually active at that age. If you feel OK about the age, then tell him why. If not then explain the drawbacks. No way will he think less of you as a mother if you have been a good mother to him as he grows up. Children really don't care how old a person is when they become a parent....its what you do from that day on that counts. I wish you the best. I'm sure you will learn alot more than most who answer this question just thru the experience.

best of all is the truth ... cuz lies have such a thin line ... always be honest and truthful with him so he will always be so with u ... just inform him of protection and so ... u still have a long way to the age of him asking that question ... enjoy the moments now of his innocence and joy ... best of luck

just make it something he always knows, don't give him the chance to ask. when my dad told me he did drugs it obviously took a lot of courage and it made me respect him more then I ever thought I could. just make sure that he knows that you did make a mistake (no offense) and that you were able to work through it and you don't want him doing what you did.
I hope that he'll always love you and vice verse!

well, i am sure when he gets to the age of asking questions like that he will know basic maths and will be able to work out a ruff age, so theirs no point lieing about it.

but - good luck to you, atleast you are staying with you boy and not ditching him like alot of people your age do.
