Yes as parents you try and support your child in anything they do, because reguardless if we support it or not they are going to do it so might as well give your blessing and stand behind them!

I say support them in any way you can! Support from parents is the most important thing to any person and having that strong support from the people who are closest to you is the best thing in the world. Make sure that that isn't the only thing they are doing though! Let them know that bills still have to be paid and money still needs to be made! Even though they want to pursue a music career there needs to be something they can do until that happens! Many people have jobs while trying to pursue such a career. Maybe they can even find a job in close to what they want to do that will help them along in the business!
P.S.- Remember that if a person is an active musician (as in not just a hobby), anything that they buy or pay for to help them with their career is tax deductible. Even go as far as recording mileage to and from any shows or recording sessions that they might do, anything they go to to help with the career. All of these things are tax deductible. For more info, talk to someone at a tax firm like H&R Block!

You should definitely support your child's career choice, even if it seems crazy or frivolous to you. They need to know that you are proud of them and you believe they can succeed in anything they do. Have plenty of talks with him to prepare him for the difficult road ahead - it's certainly not easy to "break in" and become successful in show business; but it is possible, especially if he is talented. You might even tell him that he should always have a backup plan. But you need to wish him the best, and tell him that you believe in him and he has your full support. Good luck!

yes you should give them support in anything that they want to acheive. This is good for their goal setting, and dont let them quit, unless they REALLY need to. and whats wrong with being a singer/composer?

If your son wants to be a garbageman, you support them, so long as you make the greatest possible effort to get them into university first so they will have the option of being something else if they change their mind.

Yes, even if you know it is a mistake. Some lessons need to be learned by the person instead of hearing it from others.

of course ,if thats his passion but it shouldnt be his main source of income since very few succeed in that field. Maybe for a part time job or during his past time he can pursue that dream but not as a primary job.

As a parent, you always want your children to be happy, and the pursuit of their dreams will be one thing that will make them happiest. Support them in their dreams, and be sure to be there to catch them shall they fall.
