My daughter is 20 and just moved back home. She has since had her lip pierced and her hair dyed and cut short to where she is wearing a mohawk. Which this style is the complete opposite of everything she has ever done. She done this on a day that we were arguing and she came back home with this look. I feel like all she does is try to push my buttons. Help me out PLEASE!

I'm sure some people will say "It's never okay" and some will say "Whenever you like". I've seen some children, sometimes *babies* with thier ears pierced and personally I think they're far too young. I once saw a little baby, not yet old enough to walk and she was wearing big heavy gold ones, not even little studs! What does everyone think about ear piercing?

About two weeks ago, my one year old son was taking a bath with his two sisters. He tipped backwards in his bath ring, rolled over and was in the water facedown for under 3 seconds. I had setpped out of the bathroom for a second to grap a cloth and my 5 year old told me he was falling. He wouldn't have gone face down if he didn't roll over but he did and I was TERRIFIED. My husband and I grabbed him right out and made a big fuss. Now undertandly he is terrified of getting into the water - even hearing the bath water run, he starts to shake and cry and can literally climb out of the tub he is so scared. I feel terrible and know that it is not only him fallling but us making a big fuss that he is scared now.

What can I do - please help me!!!!!! Thanks and Merry Christmas!

My child just turned eight and is fairly responsible. I live in an apartment complex that the only exit is onto a major street less than 100ft from a major intersection. It started with me letting him hang around our building. Currently he unofficially has the whole complex as lond as I know where he is and he checks in. He is currently becoming proficient on his bike. I am not worried about the major intersection because he is very familiar with it, but it means that, when he gets to that point, it's going to be a big jump on the distance he travels. I have a tendancy to be overprotective. I just want to know what's legal and what's reasonable.

I'm 25, and want to date a girl who's 20. She lives with her family, is going to college, and I met her while she worked at the coffee shop in the hospital I work at.

Her father, who happens to be a cop, has a huge issue with the age difference and has outright told her not to talk to me or do anything with me. The worst of it is he's said "He only wants to date you because he can't date anyone his own age," "He's only after 1 thing," and "What possible interest would a 25 year old have in you?" Which does nothing but destroy her selfesteem.

My intentions are totally honorable, she's a wonderful person, I know I'm falling for her, and it is definitely mutual between me and her. I keep hoping that he would meet me and find out who I am and not how old I am, but he refuses to meet me.

How do you handle this situation? Especially when you can't even get the chance to meet him.

He knows that babies are inside they're mummies bellies, but what do we say when he askes how they got in there? When do decide to have a baby in your belly, how does it happen? Don't want to go into much detail, it might just confuse the hell out of him, or scare him!!!

He lives with his mother and we see him on weekends. How do you explain that his daddy will now be daddy to other children and his mummy will be nothing and I will be the twins mummy?

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and pretty big,so we cant hide it from him much longer. Please i need some serious answers, the ex wife is pretty nasty and she's not gonna appriciate us telling her son and making him feel like he wasn't meant to be, or less loved in any way.

My 13 year old loaned a jacket to a friend last week because she didn't have a jacket & was cold (my daughter had 2 in her backpack). She finally asked for it back this past Monday & her friend told her that she thinks it's in her house somewhere. Well, here it is Wednesday night & she has gotten so many stories - it's in the wash, I think I Ieft it the P.E. locker at school, my parents have been helping me search the house be I can't find it. This girl was suppose to bring it to school tonight & didn't. On the way home my daughter called her, asked for the jacket & the girl's response was "why do you even want the stupid thing?"

I'm starting to think that this girl is either totally irresponsible & is clueless as to what she did with the jacket or she liked it so much (practically new) that she wanted to keep it.

What would you do as a parent? I don't want to step on anyone's toes but I'm just a tad bit pissed off since it's practically new!

Thanks for your advise!

I am 31 years and quite happy not having any children. I don't want to have any children and will probably get a tubal ligation this year. I know there are other women who know they don't want children and have to put up with relatives (mainly mothers) and friends insisting that every woman should have one child. I know our biological function is to reproduce, but as human beings we do not always follow this as our prime objective in life.

Sometimes we feel our past selves are completely dead and a new, more mature person has taken place. But when the parent can't tell the difference or has never bothered to know their children's life philosophies then how are people supposed to feel loved by their naive parents? There is no real identity.

My daughter will occasionally cheat during a game of Candyland or stack the deck for Uno. While her father is very worried that this dooms her to a life of dishonesty, I believe it is a normal part of development. Of course, I don't tolerate this, and she is slowly learning that no one wants to play with a cheater. I know this is not an overnight process, so it may take her a while to catch on. Isn't this normal?

My 6 year old son came home today and told me that someone in his class said that was no such thing as Santa and when he aasked me I didn't know if I should lie to him. I really didn't get a chance to say anything because my 5 year old jumped in and started arguing with him about it. What should I tell him if he asked me again?

I don't know what's going on with my 6 yo girl. She's acting like she cant' do anything by herself, she's throwing tantrums like my 2 yo son. Then I have my 2 yo who is doing the same thing she does, he's mean to my animals, he's a typical 2 yo. I feel like I'm going out of my mind!! I can't run away because I love them, and we don't have any money for me to go somewhere, like play pool, or just go to a friends house.

When I leave, they scream and cry for me, when I'm home, they act like they don't want me here. Constantly yelling at me, throwing stuff at me, ignoring me, and wanting to do things for themselves. I don't know what's going on with me, if I'm menstrul, or if I'm pregnant, but the slightest thing sets me off, and I stay mad for a quite a while.

Is there anyone that has had this problem/issue/whatever, and how did you deal with it?

Just wanting to see some parents opinions on this topic... I am a single dad and I have 3 year old triplets (sons) and every once in a while we will take a shower together. This is not an every day thing, just some mornings they enjoy taking turns to be with me alone. It is hard sometimes to get time alone with them and this is the only time I get to individually bond with them. I know some people think this is wrong, and others see no problems with it. I just wanted to know what people thought. I know there is a lot of people suspicious of sexual preditors, etc. and that is understandable, but is it really bad for a father and son to shower togehter? Boys will end up being at school in gang showers someday anyways... any thoughts?

Should the non custodial parent allow their child to take home the gifts that they give them for Christmas and Birthdays? Or should the gifts stay at the non custodial parents home for when the child visits? The child visits every other weekend. Right or wrong? What do you think?
