We have a 2 year old Golden Retriever. We also have four kids.. a 10 month old, a 2 year old, a 5 year old and an 8 year old. Yes obviously we would put the dog through classes as we did with our Golden... And yes we would take our kids and other dog to meet any potential additon.. but I would love everyones thoughts on this! Oh yeah.. I would like this to also be an indoor dog!

Thanks!

that you are raising your kids all wrong and that you will one day regret your decisions? (They are die hard religious)

Is it normal to not want to minimize your childrens exposure to these people that are shocked by who you turned out to be and hope your children turn out better?

I am hiding all his Christmas presents in a bathtub in my office(which was originally an apartment). My 5 year old son uses the bathroom all the time and he just revealed to my sister that he knew what he was getting for Christmas. He thinks the presents are for him from my husband and I, but they're from "Santa". I want him to still believe in Santa because Christmas is so magical as a child when you believe in Santa. Christmas is in 3 days! What should I do?

When our son goes into high school in 2020, I want to give him a choice, "Either work or sports" He would either have to get a part-time after school job or take-up sports. This is because I DO NOT want him taking the same path as myself. During the summer if he is not training, he will be working or both.
My wife hates this, How can I get her to see my side of this debate?

It is not really something people want to think about. The wealthy and often niave, and innocent kids of this world, have parents that are supporting a culture that oppresses kids in another part of the world. If I knew that my childhood was dependant on other kids misery and exploitation I wouldn't have wanted the things that I thought all other kids had.

I am a working mom right now, but am planning on quitting my job to stay home (again) with my kids. Quitting this job means giving up our health insurance, I can probably get it thru the state. My fiance is starting working with another company that will allow him to work from home, he is a computer programmer, which will take time away from the kids, which is why i want to quit working, he will be doing two jobs one of which pays more than mine.

I am just wondering how many people here are without insurance and how do you handle it? I have never been without insurance, whether its from work or state subsidized.

I don't really know how to handle the situation because he's been letting his girlfriend influence him into thinking she wasn't his, and how do I know a similar situation involving her won't happen again. Should I just be happy that he wants to be in her life now and just take it day by day or is it that I just need to take it cautious now that the new "daddy of the year" (a little bit of sarcasm for those who couldn't catch on) is back in the picture.

My boyfriend has a kid. His baby's mom is saying now that she is moving in March and taking the baby with her. She has full custody and he pays child support. He doesn't want her to take him. What can be done? Does he have any legal right? Is there anything that can be done to stop her taking him away?

She sleeps with the trashiest guys, thought she was gay for about a week. She has no direction at all and is lazy in a big way. She lies about even small things. No matter what I try she continues to be drifting through life with no set goals. She doesn't live w/us but w/her single Dad, who, by the way doen't know that she flunked out yet. I feel like I am sitting on a keg of dynamite. What can I do to help her get on track? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

An elderly Santa impersonator has just died, aged 82, during a Christmas party in Scotland, leaving children distraught and confused.
Not a good Christmas for either the Santa or the kids. So should we really hide behind the image of Santa or shouldn't we actually be honest and tell them the kids the truth ?

today whilst i was in town i took my eye off my 6 year old daughter for 10 mins to look at things. in this time she managed to disrupt the place throw something which accidently hit a little boy of in the head which caused him to split his lip and make his mouth bleed profusely. i feel total remorse and feel like i have failed as aparent because i took my eye off the ball. it didnt help that the parent told me i was an unfit mother and shouldnt be allowed to have kids if i cant control them? then to made matters worse my friend who was with me started saying that if i was stricter with my child and watched what she was doing these things wouldnt happen. she said it was my own fault because she thinks that i dont punish her enough. now i have come back from town feeling awful and depressed. help am i really that bad?

My nephew just found out the truth about Santa…and he is taking it hard. Sleepless nights, no eating, constant crying. He is just having trouble believing the truth and is going to great lengths to prove his theories of Santa correct to both his parents and the other kids at school. His parents don't know what to do as they are confused by his behavior. I want to dress up as Santa, stop by his house and tell him that "Santa does exist". The kid will be in middle school next year, so I figure that he'll HAVE to know the truth by then. One more year of Santa shouldn’t hurt…can it?

I have two very small children ones three and the other seven months. I am always mom and care taker. I know that's my most important job, but i have not been away from my little ones in seven months. I love them very much, but i am kinda going loopy. I really want to get away but i feel so guilty, i guess from how my mother treated my sis and i and also because my kids are without a father. How can i over come these feelings of deep guilty to maintain my sanity? I feel like i am between a rock and hard place. any sugestions welcome thanks

1)take all of their christmas presents back.
2)ground them for two months.
3)send them to juvenille.
4) all of the above.

Simply untrue. Yes,there are some very lazy moms who basically just keep their kids alive but not all of us. #1 Playdates offer sociol time in VARIOUS enviroments, not the same little house or classroom day in and day out. There are also p/t school programs and little progrmas throught the city which are very affordable, which gives the kids time alone with their friends, parent free. They get the early education, sociolization skills, the praise of their hard work. They get to nap in their own beds, cuddle time. When theyre sik,mom or dad is there to comfort them, theyre not sick and miserable in a day care. When you sick, mom is all you want. All day day care is repetitive and boring.
Single parents cant do this, obviously thats understood but it dosent take welth either. We do alot of sacrificing for me to stay home. We could have two new cars,a huge house, great clothes, but our priority is our kids, not sociol status.

Now that I have your attention, I have a legit question. Why do people have children just to dump the child off in school once they turn 5 years old? We have these people making judgements about daycare, yet isn't school the same thing? Kids are in school for about the same amount of time. Just think we they get older and are involved in sports/band/choir/etc. How terrible that these children can't spend every second of everyday with their parents.
(note the sarcasm)
