it is diferent that your own kids? tellme
I just want to know, because my I have a 1 year old baby and my mom lives in a diferent continent ,and she wants to move here now that she has her first granchild. she never express of want to move here until I have a baby.
I think she really sad not to have her, close. But I can't understand how much love she feel if she just sow her one time.

I'm a grandma now, after totally adoring my own kids and loving being a mother.
I have three grand-kids and I like all kids. But it is a very special feeling with the grands. You really do love them almost like your own--- somehow the bodily connection is there.
Two of my grand-kids live an ocean away and I don't see them often... but still feel very close to them when I see them. One lives only 10 minutes away and I was there at her birth. The first few weeks I HAD to see her and touch her every day! Now that she is three, we still have an incredibly close relationship--- and she loves me as much as I love her. But now I can let days or even weeks go by (when they went on vacation) without severe withdrawal symptoms!
Its very nice being a grandmother. You get almost as much of the tremendous love-rushes--- but you also get to sleep nights and not worry so much over every little thing. Also, since you're (hopefully) not financially responsible for everything for the child, you can buy the cute toy or impractical darling dress you couldn't afford for your own kids. Fun!

When my first granddaughter was born, (my son's 1st), I rushed to the hospital. I couldn't wait to see the "baby", and when I did, I never experienced anything like it before, I was instantly transported back in time, my granddaughter looked just like her "father" did when he was born. The words are hard to express,but the LOVE is a deeper,more understanding love. Your mother will be a great asset to your home and your child. The bond between grandmothers and their "daughter's" children is even deeper. I know, I am now waiting for my granddaughters to have children, and I know that that LOVE will be even more fulfilling. It's a different love. I don't think it's better or worse. Stronger or weaker. You always love different family members differently. You wouldn't love a parent as you would love a spouse. A sibling as you would love your child. The think that makes a grandchild seem special (and I don't mean this as a joke): When the grandparent gets tired of the kid, they can send them home to their parents.

My grandchildren are the light of my life. I love soo much. They are like little jewels that were given to me by my child. Grandchildren are the kids you can enjoy because you have no responsibility and just all the enjoyment of them. My daughter and her husband are really good parents and I like to think that the close relationship I have with thier children just adds to the kids lives and makes it better.

I don't know why,its really weird You Love them more then you've ever Loved anyone,Your older & you know more so any mistakes U made with your owne kids U can kinda make up for it with the new babys,,,well thats the way it is for me anyway

Tolerance. Parents will scold their children if they do something wrong. Grandparents are usually gentle, and will tolerate bad behaviour.
