I am hiding all his Christmas presents in a bathtub in my office(which was originally an apartment). My 5 year old son uses the bathroom all the time and he just revealed to my sister that he knew what he was getting for Christmas. He thinks the presents are for him from my husband and I, but they're from "Santa". I want him to still believe in Santa because Christmas is so magical as a child when you believe in Santa. Christmas is in 3 days! What should I do?

Let him think they're not his. Tell him santa asked you to hold them for someone else because his workshop was too full.

Well that takes the fun out of it now. Well don't give him all the presents at once and save some for later on in the day. With all the cool stuff he is getting, he might not remember all that he saw. Tell him santa wanted him to have these special gifts early for being such a good boy this year and all that. Or you could just go and find a couple more and have them from Santa. Or better yet, just tell him he was such a good boy and Santa wanted him to have gifts early. So give him a couple or one really great one on Christmas Eve and tell him Santa hope he is as good this coming year as he was this past year so he can get his special gift early again. All I can think of on such short notice and him already finding them.

Why would you keep the presents from Santa in a BATHTUB? That sounds like to me you're asking for him to find it. Especially if he uses the bathroom all the time.

I never had that problem. I was told my dad and aunt kept "Santa's" gifts in the attic. I would never go up there. You need to hide your presents more better.

Maybe this year, you can give those presents to him from you, and go out and buy him a few things from "Santa". Maybe you'll get lucky and he'll still believe in Santa.

Tell him that some of the gifts in there were from Santa Clause and he had asked you if you could help him out by wrapping some of them, since he's such a busy guy. Tell your son that you told Santa he knew about all his presents, but tell him Santa wasn't mad at him, was just hoping he'd understand and enjoy all his presents regardless. I'm sure he'll do anything Santa says! :)

Can you possibly switch some gifts around (like take some things that you and your husband were going to give him instead so that he does not know everything and say those are from Santa??) Since he does not know for SURE if they are from Santa, you can still fix this. I agree that Christmas is definitely full of magic and excitement for children. When I was a kid, my dad had one of his coworkers call me and pretend he was Santa and it was so exciting--can you maybe do that too so that he thinks he is talking to Santa?? Good luck and I hope your son will continue to believe. :):)

I think Christmas can still be magical and wonderful without the Santa illusion. Yes, I remember liking Santa when I was little... then when I figured out Santa, I immediately knew there was no Easter bunny or tooth fairy and I proceeded to ask my mom if Jesus and God were made up too.
I always felt telling my kids the truth in ALL areas, not even lying in 'harmless fun', was the best thing.
I know it is a little hard... but in the long run it strengthens the trust.

Maybe just go out and buy like 1 or 2 more gifts and put them in different paper and have those be from santa?

Or, tell him something like, Santa sent them early because he had so many houses to visit and he wasn't supposed to see them yet. Maybe you could type something up on some christmas type paper and have it be a note from santa to him explaining why the gifts are there early? Sometimes kids at that age are still pretty easy to tell that kind of thing to.

Some little kids know that Santa isn't real and kids from his school are going to tell him that Santa isn't real and he will believe them. But for now just tell him that Santa gave them to him a little early because he is good.

lol tha'ts cute.... I'd tell him that Santa Hides the christmas presents in different parts of the world for different people as he gets them made because there's so many kids and all the toys won't fit in the sleigh!! That way, all he has to do, is pick up the presents and deliver them to the christmas tree, and he doesn't have to carry everything all at once!!'

good luck!!!!!

I wish you had more time to take a few back and get him a few different things that could then be "from Santa."

I'm a new parent. I'm not looking forward to these situations. Good luck.

Merry Christmas!

Tell him something along the line of Santa had to deliver them early. At that age he'll buy it. With a nice little note from Santa, you're all set.
