The one that "gave the semen" is the "father", but, the one that loves the baby, is there for the baby, and takes care of the baby is the "dad or daddy"... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

1. A father is love.
Life has many turns and many surprises along the way, to
complicated to give any perfect answer other than what i
stated above. Of course a man who only contributed and went away with that intention, is not the true father.
the true father would be the one who cared, loved and protected his child. There are the ones that just don't care, the ones that do but incarceration, death, special circumstances prevented them from being with a child they loved.

The FATHER is the sperm donor.
The DAD is the man who took the responsibility, his or not, and raised the child.
My 'father' didn't leave, he in fact passed away when I was 9 months old. But I knew since I was little that Dad wasn't my father, and it never mattered to me, because he was there and loved me.

Anyone can donate their sperm but it's a father that takes responsiblity for the life that they have made. My husband is the father of my daughter but he's not her blood. The man who is the biological father hasn't been in the picture since I was 5 months pregnant. My daughter calls my husband "daddy". He's there to hug her, scold her, help with homework, play connect four, read her books, teach her how to not throw "like a girl" :).
He's the real father in her life. He's her hero.

It takes a man to be a father or DAD! One that cares and is responsible for his actions in life.... The other is imature and can not be conceidered a father. Unfortunatly my husband is in that situation and is now 22. He does not actually have anyone that stepped in to play father although he wishes there was. The guy that helped his mother to create him is his biological father however being called dad is an earned privlidge!

A father is a true role model for his children providing and teaching good values, love and fun mixed with affection. It's true the biological fathers may not be able to provide that it is great when someone does. There are many children who don't have a loving, role model father.

Anyone can be a sperm donor. It takes a special, loving, kind hearted man to fall in love with children that are not his and teach them to grow up to be responsible adults. If you have a father like that, you are truly a lucky person. But once in awhile, tell him you love him for all he does for you. He deserves that.

a father is a person who loves a child regardless of paternity or not. A father is a person who raises and cares for a child, who is there for them no matter what.
If you decide to become a father to a child who is not yours, you are a good person.
