My son is very close to me and so is my daughter, he just turned 2 and she is 7 months. When my son sees a family member and he doesn't want to say hi or be polite they get discourage and start being rude to him. saying he is a momma's boy and such a baby. I hate it when they say this, but how do I get my son to be more interactive with other people he doesn't see as much. I am a stay at home mom, and we see his mimi and papa once a week. I won't pay a babysitter to let him interact, because I already tried that and I don't trust people a lot. I go to play places at the amll, but should I do it more often i do it about once a week. My son and daughter are always with me and I don't want it any other way. He sometimes is different. He wants nana and hugs nana , but then another day goes by and I go there and he screams and doesn't want to go inside. what do I do?

What if the baby cries at night? They have vibrating alerts. But what if they dont work (i.e. power cut?)
How are children of deaf parents compare to hearing parents?

My sister in law comapres my children with her friends children and considers herself as an aunt to other children, but has not been a realy aunt to my children. My children are a gift and everyone I go everyone loves to see a beautiful baby and they love my son, you can look at my pictures on my 360 page. She compares a two year old to a 3 year old saying that they 3 yr old is taller than my son..well, I hope he would be I said. She compares a four, and five year old to my son. Why does she do this, My son hits his milestones two months ahead of what he is supposed to be at. Why would she belittle my children? Her husband said that my son is such a baby. Why wouldn't someone say that?

my fourteen year old sister lives with me, and i am nineteen with three of my own kids who are all under 4 years old. about four months ago my sister came to live with me, because our mother has a drug addiction problem. i am her legal gaurdian, but i am also her sister so i am finding it hard to make the rules clear. i also never had any dicipline through out my childhood, so this also presents a problem. i do not know what kind of rules a teenager needs.

She thinks she has a better relationship with our mother in law, and talks to her like they are the best of friends. My mother in law told me she can't stand her. I can tell my sister in law in trying to get underneath my skin. She even asked me what do I do at home, since I stay at home. I have two children and she said that sarcastically. I went over her house for the first time and she said her bed was bigger than mines...What I said and in my head I was thinking do I really care? My bed is the biggest one out there, and she is telling me about my bed...OKAY....She said her house was dirty, when it was clean as a whip. She stays at my inlaws big house when they go out of town and she takes care of the dog. They drove my inlaws nice cars around and make themselves feel at home, and invitied us to come over like it was their house. I love my house, I wouldn't want to stay at someone else's house. They have a nice apartment also. How to I respond to her negative ways?

I don't know if anyone agrees, but sometimes I look at the questions and answers on here and get frustrated. It seems like so many parents nowadays try to be their childrens "friend" or "equal". Does anyone understand that we need to PARENT our children? Create rules and boundaries? Punish firmly and consistantly when these boundaries are crossed? I love my children dearly, but I don't believe that letting them rule the roost or coddling them is setting them up for success in the future. I love my children, so I discipline them, TEACH them. Our prison systems are full of children that lived without limits and respect and have grown into adults that live what they have learned. What do you think?

I've come to realize, thanks to YAHOO!, that everyone's financial and life experiences are completely different. I'm tired of hearing the negative comments being thrown back and forth between the two groups. I admit I have done it as well, but I finally recognized it's ridiculous. To each their own. Let's just all hope that everyone does the best they can with their own situations.

My 12 year old daughter was invited to go to an indoor amusement park (within West Edmonton Mall) with 2 other 12 year old girls. The birthday girl's parents were just going to drop them off and pick them up 6 hours later!

Following on from peoples obvious stance on parents smoking in cars....Do people feel that parents who provide their children with 'junk food / sweets etc' are just as irresponsible ?

I have a little sister in law she is 12 and I have a great time with her when I see her, she lives in kentucky. I keep up with her and since I am good with children, I know what they want. She wants a friend to talk to and play with up her and I am that person. I get down to her level and play dolls, but make up on, and do other girl stuff. When my in laws see this, they think I am weird for playing with a 12 yr old. I have a 2 yr old and a 7 month old. I have stuff a great time with her, and they look at me weird for having a great time, I think they are jealous that they can't have a good time with her. What can I do to make our time more precious? What can I do to get my in laws off my back?

I didn't let my son trick or treat. We played games and had candy treats at home. There is just so much bad in the world that I want to keep him at home.

I'm an Aunt to a little boy and 4 yr old girl. ever since I was 16 my niece has been in my life. I have my own two children, and take care of them very well. My sister on the other hand never sees her children because she doesn't want to, she didn't even go trick or treating with the kids last night. I can't do anything to change her, but what can I do for the children? I put Donovan to sleep last night and sang him a lullaby and it made me cry, that this was probably his first one. I don't want to spoil them with gifts, just love. I can't take them out because I can't fit 6 six people in my car. What should I do in the comfort of my mom's house (here they live) with them?

I know, from my own experience with Yahoo Answers, and from some of my messenger buddies, who also get on Answers, that some subjects spark hot tempers and that some people just get a kick out of giving a nasty, mean answer to someones question. I, as well as my buddies, have a mental list of the people who have really ticked me off in the past, because of an overly judgemental answer or just an out right mean answer they gave, and I just avoid those peoples questions and hope they don't answer mine. I have noticed that someone on here seems to be stalking me. I know that sounds stupid, but I didn't know another word to call it. Every single question I have asked and every single answer I have given, has been given thumbs downs. Even the simple, non-contraversial ones. Ones that for no reason in the world would have deserved a thumbs down, other than if someone I ticked off if following my activity on here and doing it purposly. Are people on here that bored and vendictive?

I have two children and she wants kids really bad, but the whole family knows they are not ready, since they are totally involved in themselves. They never spend time with the family because they have "appointments" . Plus she has never taken care of a baby, doesn't mean she won't be a great mom it's just her reaction towards kids. My daughter spit up on her clothes and she threw a temper tantrum worse than my two year old. They are horrible aunts and uncles. When I saw them at target one day with my son and I was pregnant, they ran into a aisle once they saw me. How rude! My brother who lives in nebraska and my brother in law that lives in california are way better uncles than this one, and he even lives here. You can tell he is not ready for kids. He abuses my son with words like saying "you are a mommy's boy and you need to grow up, stop being a baby and be a man." I am lucky I got the better son out of the two. I think that a baby will break them up. What do I know, so help me.

Society seems to me to be very wussified nowadays. No one seems to spank their kids anymore. When I was a kid (which wasn't that long ago) I got whipped quite a few times and I think I'm better for it now. None of this time-out stuff or taking away my TV or video games, just a good old fashioned beating. It forced me to take really accountability for my actions and make a real change, unlike these new "punishments" kids get today. Anyway, just wanted to see what you guys think.
