My toddler has, and i've just finished clearing him and the mess up!!! Whilst I was 'busy' taking a mo to answer questions, a peaceful break having tidied and cleaned and cuddled and played since 6am!! him playing happily with his little cars, peaceful and quiet for a change, just out of eye shot.........ummm it was the peaceful, quiet bit that got my attention!! lol. He had managed to undo a 4 pint milk bottle, that was once full, and was sitting happily playing with the 'empty' bottle! Covered in milk from head to toe, so too the floor and everything within splashing distance....but ahh bless, the smile from him was truly huge as he proudly turns round and hands me his beaker full of milk saying 'mummy some!!!? he managed somehow to pour enough into his drinks cup for my cup of coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol lol! quick bath, clean clothes and floor now gleaming once again!! I can't stop laughing!!! will come back to answers tonight i think when my little cherub is tucked up cosy in bed!!

...do you think that's ok?

It was early evening and he was parked in front of the tv. I left my mobile number for him in case there was a problem and told him exactly when I'd get back.

He was quite happy to be left and not worried at all.

I'd be happy to hear what other parents think about this? However, if you disagree, please don't be rude - I am far from being irresponsible, but I would be genuinely interested in your views.

What age do you think it's acceptable to leave kids for short periods? My view is that at some stage you have to give them a bit of independance, a little bit at a time. But do you think 10 is TOO soon.

(BTW: this is the first time he has ever been left).

when i was a child, both my parents smoked in the house, a pack a day each. It disgusted me and embarrsed me to go to school smelling like it, & that my friends wouldnt come over because of the smell. 13 of our family members have died because of smoking-related lungcancer and/or emphysema. I dont understand how they can still smoke. The idea of seeing my parents die early and horrible deaths because of their addiction scares me. I know we will all die someday, but still, its horrible. My dad would even tell me to leave him alone, and that I would probably end up smoking just like all my older brothers. I've never had so much as a drag. Now that we are all out of the house, & they live in a nice place, they dont smoke indoors anymore. I will always be a little bitter that they didnt have the courtesy to take it outiside while we were growing up. For those of you who do this to your kids, maybe you should listen to them. Everyone else, am i wrong to be offended by what they did?

I really cant stand these neighbors. They are annoying. I know lot sof secrets about them, that I know if the other neighbors knew, they would be absolutely mortified. (For example, this neighbor used to be a stripper and drugee!) Should I expose their secrets? Or dont you think it's right?

Son's dad dumped me when he found out I was pregnant. Have had problems ever since. He hardly ever contacts my son. Yet his mom says he has an interest in writing and talking to him again. (it's been off and on for years) My son is 10. Should I just say "the heck with ya?" and not give him a chance - or give him a chance because he is his biologocial dad? (fyi - hes mad because i went to court for child suport)

My husband has two children, ages 6 and 11. Their mother sends the oldest to us with a pre-paid cell phone. We've had several issues including his staying up at night to play games on the phone. Also, when he gets in trouble, he calls mom, tells her part of the story and usually not even close to the truth. Last, he's run the phone out of minutes on several occasions and cannot account for the time. Those phone are quite expensive to recharge! He's proven to us he's just not mature enough to handle the responsibility of having a cell phone. Another concern is the fact that their mom won't call to talk to the youngest child which breaks our daughter's heart. We have never not allowed the children to call their mother when they're with us and we do not listen in on their conversations. There's no reason she cannot call the house phone our cells to talk with the kids. Are we within our rights to tell her no to sending our son to us with a cell phone? Any advice on the situation?

Yesterday saw a little girl's name on her desk in my son's classroom and it was spelled Macky Anne. Her mother pronounces it Muh-KEE-un. Weirder than weird. Poor little thing has to go through life with that name.

When my ex husbands child support was set over 8 years ago, he told the judge that he was out of work at that time, so his child support was set based on minimum wage. I was never aware until years later that in Texas, child support can be reviewed every 3 years and if the non-custodial parent is making more, their child support amount would be raised. Considering that I only get $200.00 a month, and because he won't keep medical insurance on my son, I decided to file for a review by the Texas Attorney Generals office, because I was told that they do it for free and I would just have to pay a private attorney to do it for me. Well, that was over 6 months ago. I have called numerous times, being on hold for at least 15 minutes each time, and I keep getting the run around. "That case is being reviewed. Call back in a week or so." That is what they have said. The last person though, said that my case had not even been touched since I first filed. Have they done this to anyone else?

I have a 3 and 4 year old and some nights, it's a pain to get them to pick up their toys. I am tired of picking them up myself. I would like to be able to do my dishes or something while they are picking up the toys. I've helped them pick them up, pointed toys out, I've even threatened to get rid of some of the toys, all to no avail. Any ideas???

My daughter is turning 6 in December. For the last week she has been waking up about an hour after she falls asleep. She cries, mumbles, shakes..acts like she is in a trance. Its really frustrating for her dad and I. There is nothing tramitic going on at home or at school. What can we do for her? Take her to a shrink? Let it pass?

I am not sure where to start. My son is six yrs old and in 1st grade. We have been having behavior problems for the last year or so. He does not do anything mean or hateful he just does not follow directions and is a class clown, not to mention he talks non stop. I have been very concerend and have talked to his teachers several times, she has reassured me he will grow out of it. I have noticed things have gotten progressively worse and still his teacher reassures me he's fine. She says he does his work and is extremely bright. The problem is out of no where today I get a note from the teacher saying my son has held siscors up to another childs throat. I am beside myself. I have taken away every toy and put him to bed early. I don't know what to do or where this came from. I know he has no clue about how badly he could have hurt the child and now I am scared. He is so easy going and fun loving I don't know what happened. Please only serious responses.
Where do I go from here?

anybody have any funny stories of putting something down someone's crack or seeing others do it?

just for laughs...

haha once I was at a basket ball game, and there was this girl in front of my who had a HUGE butt crack showing. So me and my friend took little bits of granola bar, and we started throwing them at her, seeing if they could go in. that sounds stupid, but it was so funny, especially because the girl didn't notice, and there was a lot of granola in her crack. wonder if she was confused later on? lmao.

if you're going to whine and complain, don't bother replying. this is all in FUN and jokes.

I cannot understand why people smack their children. I have an 8 and 6 year old , have never laid a finger on them and they are the 2 most polite, obedient children you will ever have the pleasure to meet. They are treated with respect they deserve as people and they return the respect. Any problems are discussed and sorted by word of mouth. Would anyone that smacks their children smack their partner, their friends, their staff or boss if they did somewthing wrong ?, doubt it !. How could anyone want to hurt their children ?

My sister has always been a party girl and still is. She broke up with her fiance of 5 yr joined the coast guard reseve, and did every man she could get her hands on. haha. She has a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old. Both of them are neglected by her, and she lives with my mom, she never sees the children because she doesn't want to. She reacently started to date a kevin federline kind of person. He doesn't have a job or a car. My sister pays for everything. He lives in maryland and she drives him back and forth to take classes for hvac. They have been dating for about two months. She hardly supports her children and she is supporting him buying whatever he wants. She never has money to buy food or diapers because of the gas money she uses to go back and forth. Plus the expenses of him. I can't help my sister because she is a brick wall and I don't care about her just the children, I just want to know does it sound like he is mooching off of her?
