When my ex husbands child support was set over 8 years ago, he told the judge that he was out of work at that time, so his child support was set based on minimum wage. I was never aware until years later that in Texas, child support can be reviewed every 3 years and if the non-custodial parent is making more, their child support amount would be raised. Considering that I only get $200.00 a month, and because he won't keep medical insurance on my son, I decided to file for a review by the Texas Attorney Generals office, because I was told that they do it for free and I would just have to pay a private attorney to do it for me. Well, that was over 6 months ago. I have called numerous times, being on hold for at least 15 minutes each time, and I keep getting the run around. "That case is being reviewed. Call back in a week or so." That is what they have said. The last person though, said that my case had not even been touched since I first filed. Have they done this to anyone else?
