Have you had anything like this happen? I guess I will learn to like it. I just think he will be made fun of. We live in rural east texas, not to many Adonis'

only in this year my son started worrying about his poor grades as its dropped to 1.7 GPA. he is very weak in writing & expression because he does not like to read much, english is not mother tongue. he is my only child. he is very shy and not ask questions in class nor go to teachers for help. teachers say that he has to be initiative & they cant do anything if he doesn't approach them for help. i live in a third world country where there is no counselling & no support group available. pls give me advice, thanks!

I just want to know because my daughter is seven and loves those things. This morning before she woke up I threw 3 away. She hasn't noticed yet. I'm planning on doing the same thing tomorrow but before I do I wanted to ask ya'll. Thanks. And please don't give no stupid answers like " she's in second grade, leave her alone " or " she'll grow out of them, give her some time ". I don't want to hear that bullsh*t. She's addicted to them, and I'm not going to accept that. She plays with them in the middle of the night, as soon as she gets home from school, and in the bathroom. I'm loosing it with her! Even my 5 year old doesn't play with them.

I have to answer 4 questions in this essay, which are:
1.) How would you characterize the style of parenting under which you were raised?

2.)What specific behavioral effects of your upbringing can you identify in yourself?

3.)How about your parents' upbringing? How would they, or you, characterize the style of parenting used by their parents.

4.)Now think carefully about who you might have been had you been raised by other parents. Prepare 3 brief descriptions of how you might have developed, one for each of the remaining styles of parenting.

OKAY... I know most of them.. well actually all, are answers you guys would ahve no idea about because you do not know me or my parents.. but How in the hell am I supposed to write a 1000 word essay on those simple questions. I don't even know how to elaborate on some of them without getting completely off topic!!! HEEELPPP!

My 18 year old doesn't seem to take any interest in girls at all...he spends all of his time watching Gray's Anatomy and doing his hair. Is this ABC's fault? Should I blame myself? My wife? His health teacher? That evangelist guy? I just...need some answers....

OK I have a 6 year old nephew who is really spoiled, my sister is divorced so when she can't take care of him I take care of him and I'm really nice to him although some times he thinks he can get away with stuff. I love him so much he's my little monster that's what I call him any way well I'm the kind of person that's wont tolerate any misbehaving like my kids I show them how to be respectfully to others and not to be stingy.
Well every time my sister and I go to the store he starts to ask for candy, toys, movies any thing he wants he has to have it. Well my sister has stop spoiling him after she got divorced now his father started to spoil him even more he actually started to get him to think my sister doesn't want to buy him any thing because she doesn't love him any more. Which is really stupid on his part. My nephew even started to talk cuss and hit my kids, Example Well we go off to the store and if he doesn't get some thing he wants he starts hitting him self like banging h

i know this isnt a question but this is just a big thanks to everyone who gave me helpful advice on what to do with my sons. I had a talk with Jered and now he is in therapy with a nice man named Christopher Bandlen. And we got ms. Becky to admit that she did really assault my son devon he has been checked for marks and things and hes all ok now. so things are getting a bit better. except for the fact devon had a nightmare about ms. becky trying to do that again when he was trying to sleep last night. But, anyway thank you to everyone who helped!

what about age 10, what would be a good "item" for a 10th birthday privilege?

anything before age 10?
