Since I have been on Yahoo.answers I have seen words and phrases I have never heard of. I finally found out what Emo is but now I need to ask "What is Salvia?" I have never heard of such a thing and I have a 15 year old. I know I am getting older but I did not think I was that far behind the times.

i am not a fan of spanking children but i have 15y/o son that still throws tandrums while we're in public.he drops to the floor and starts kicking and screaming.and up until now me and my wife have always given in.however i have had it with him and im considering spanking him with a belt the next time he does this.the only thing im corcerned about is that he has never experienced physical discipline and i wonder if the experience could possibly do more harm then good.do u think physical discipline would be appropriate in our situation?

I found out this morning that my step dad (married to my mom for 3 years) has two other kids in New York that he has been keeping a secret.

I saw a post on Answers the other day that had a link to http://background-records.net/ Well, I was bored this weekend so I started checking it out. I entered various names and when I entered my step dad's name it listed a group of family names (including my mom, my sister, and myself). There were several other names listed that I was not familiar with. After checking the birth records on the site I discovered that my step dad is their father! The other kids are 12 and 14.

I am positive that my mom does not know this info. I am afraid she will be heart broken. Should I tell her or just pretend like nothing happened? I really don't know what to do.

whenever we're in a store and i tell him 'No' he falls to the ground and starts yelling, and kicking just like a 2 y/o!whenever he does this we ignore him but that doesnt work.instead of stopping he usually screams louder screams things like 'Daddy stop touching me like that' and everyone in the store stares and give me and my wife dirty looks.when he takes it that far we always give in.We know that he only acts that way bc when he was little we gave him whatever he wanted so tht he would b quite and now he's complety spoiled.and we dont know what to do.
Do u have any suggestions that can help us? he's not a bad kid he gets good grades and rarely acts up at school

Ok here is the story I have 2 boys ages 3 and 5. me and hubby know this one guy that is a transsexual. Well we told him that we did not want him around the boys if he is in dress(he comes over after they are asleep) because of teachers, parents, and peers' questions and that we feel it is not appropriate for children that young to be exposed to things like that yet. Well "x" is trying to pursude me and hubby to change our minds and we feel that if he can's accept our desicion that he should just not come over at all. Is that kinda harsh? I have been supportive in his desicion but why can he not accept ours?

Is it cruel for a mother to tell her son that if people see him behaving badly to his mother that they will think hes bad inside? Mother 43, is single, divorced, and has much stress, and unhappiness. Is this just a way of getting him to be nice to mother?

My two girls ages 8 and 6 are so wild. I feel like the worst parent. I try to teach them the right things, and be a good parent, but it seems like no matter what I do they do not pay any attention to me when I tell them to do something, or settle down. I finally get their attention and they say ok, and then just go right back to the same thing they were doing as if they were just saying ok to shut me up. I'm so sick of it. I'm the parent and I should have control of the situation, but it's gotten so far out of hand that I don't know how to handle it anymore. HELP!!! I almost feel like it's even harder because there are 2 of them and one of me. They just laugh if they get in trouble. They share a room so I can't really tell them to go to their room and I need to have them somewhere seperated where they are away from me so I can cool off before I talk to them. I get so upset that I just want to scream at them and I know that wouldn't help the situation any.

How long is the longest period a mother has breastfed her child? I have read about children who have still nursed when they are 10 years old. But are there children who have been breastfed even longer?

does anyone think it right for women to have 5 or 6 kids- no daddy, and living on tax payers $$$?

It makes me so angry when I see a woman with 5 or six kids, living on the system, foodstamps, wellfare, and driving a brand new car, or SUV, dripping in gold, wearing better clothing and very expensive tennis shoes than mst, all the while living on tax payers dollars.
AND these same women keep having more, and more babies! if you know you cannot support your first child, why keep having more? AND most thhe time they don't even know who the father is!
just watch Maury Povich- it is PATHETIC!

My son was killed 10 years ago by a drunk driver. This was the 4th DWI for the man, his third serious accident and 1st where someone actually died. My son was only 11 months old at the time he was killed, my sister was severly injured and has many disabilities from it as well. In the trial the man was sentenced to 5 years for vehicular manslaughter and lost his license for guess what 10 years. the other day was out in town and we saw him and I wanted to run over him. I was so mad he was already back to driving car. I have dealt with my sons death although I remeber on a daily basis but how can I deal with seeing this man and letting the anger go. I hate him I will not deny that but he does have a family and as fate goes his son and my daughter are in the smae class at school and actually friends. I deal with his kid as it isn't his fault what his dad did, but how do I deal with the father, even in court and since he has never showed any remorse for what happened.

Ok my daughter will be 8 yrs in a few months, and has never seen her dad, well 2x when she was a baby under 6months old. We moved to Texas when she was only 8 months old and I would send info to him and photo's and all but they always got send back to us.

He only paid Child Support for 8/9 months then that stopped too. (he ows almost $11,000 ) Well i have a myspace acc.and i went to open my mail on there and had a letter from him. He wanted to know about his daughter and wanted to talk with both of us and let him number to call him.

I just don't know what to do I called him and left a number where he can call back on, I was almost sick when i called him. I just do not know what to do, I have not told any family here that he is asking about her and i don't think that i will any time soon.

I would love to know what to do now ............PLEASE HELP
