My daughter's father has been dating a girl for around a year. I have always found her very odd. All of this time she has made it a point to avoid me. She will not meet me and when they come to pick my daughter up for visits she sits in the car. In recent months she has began causing trouble in the form of posting things about me online. When I try to contact her I get angry phone calls and letters from my daughter's father. The most recent incident was that she basically accused me of being a slut and teach my daughter to dress like a "skank". She also said that my husband and I are teaching her messed up values that are screwing with her head and damaging her mentally. In the past she has called my daughter as a monster and threw a fit over my daughter's father spending time with my daughter instead of her. They moved in together so I can't keep my daughter way from her. Should I not let my daughter visit her dad? Her dad is not a good person either and won't keep this girl away.

It's for a friend-her child has 10 hour paddys-Is only good at school, but a nightmare everywhere else-She doesn't understand what you tell her-She is repetative even if you aggree with her-even when she's doing something fun she carries on-She uses a lot of baby talk-Hits her Mum,Steals and has told her Mum that she wants to kill herself-She thumps kicks and hits her Mum-Says she hates her Mum and has tried to push the baby's pram over.
Her Mum has been everywhere for help and has been told that she's not assertive enough-
Her Mum is assertive and has 2 other children that are fine.
It's been suggested that it could be on the autistic spectrum but she doesn't know what this is.
The Mum is having so much trouble getting help and has been trying for 5 years to get someone to listen.
You can't reason with the child she expects everything to be done for her.My friend can't even get dressed without her daughter wanting her to do something for her.
The little girl is 7

Theres a couple of options here, but think about it. The future of a child depends on what we choose? Do you agree? What should we as a society do? I know its a parents choice, but some parents don't know how to parent and can and will take both to the extreme. Thanks

I am under a bit of pressure to allow my 3 children to sleepover at my in-laws house. They are aged 8, 6 and 4.
I have explained that although they are more than welcome to take children out for the day, I would prefer them to be in their own beds at night time. My husband while he doesnt agree with me, backs me up. However my mother in law simply wont take no for an answer. She keeps asking even though I have said I will let her know when I feel they are ready. (especially my 4 year old)
The thing is, she very rarely takes me up on the offer to have them during the day. Instead its a constant request for the night time sleepovers. Its getting a bit annoying! I really want to get along with her, but I feel really pressured. She rang this arvo to ask again, I said no and suggested a day out. She said she'd ring me back when I had a chance 'to think about it'. What is going on??? Am I being totally unreasonable? Or should no mean no? Honest opinions please!

Because:
She is a slob, takes hours and hours to do simple tasks!

Starts fights with me and the wife almost daily! What happens is I will tell her to clean her room or whatever and she crys and her mom will come out and verbally attack me and the goes on from where I left off in the first place.

Is none stop trying to get sex from boys

Dresses like a whore, spike heels, layers of makeup

Needs to be constantly watched over, can never trust her always lets us down.

Has a .87 GPA

Gets in Fights at school and gets suspended.
Logs up to 277 phone calls in 3 days.

She doesn' do drugs, but her real father was hostel and only went to 10 th grade. I wonder if she just takes after him??

Question is?? Is this normal?? What should I do?? I am fed up!! And I don't know how to thank all of you who may answer. So please let me thank you now! Thank you! If I get the chance I will email you on the progres

if the parent is not there or if they are but aren't punishing their rotten behavior? What about verbal reprimanding? Sometimes I just want to beat the crap out of other people's kids but I never do. (Ha ha!)

Bless his heart he is the type of child (he is 5) that just wants to play with everyone (kids) anf there are some kids that are just mean and nasty towards him but he still yet wants to play with them. There are a couple of kids that have hit him and he still goes around them and tells me they are his friends and i have told him friends don't hit friends but he is just so sensitive and just wants to play. How can i get him to stand up for himself if one calls him a name or hits him?
(I have talked to the parents of the ones that did hit him which they could care less as long as they are outside and out of their hair).

I have a 13 month old. What is the best parenting magazine for this age and up? Is it Parenting, American Baby, etc? Please tell me what you think and why. I enjoy reading mags but I don't want to subscribe to something that is going to be a waste of time and money.

It's 11:30 Everyone is asleep ( so I thought) so I get on the computer in my room for quite time. My 12 yr old daughter walks in and bends down beside me and scared me about half to death and my first reaction was to swing. I hit her right in the face. Now she has a huge red mark that I'm sure will be a bruise. When she goes to school should she tell the truth or should I have her lie. I don't even spank my children. I don't want social services showing up.

Any ideas where I could look, or place an ad, for a trustworthy one in the town that I live? We have siblings and parents to watch our daughter; however, we ask them all the time and they are busy with their own lives and children. Any ideas would be appreciated.

It takes me 2 hours to get my toddler to fall asleep for his nap. I put him down at 1 and he will not fall asleep until 2.30- 3.00. (it doesnt matter if i take all distraction away from him, he just talks to himself and sings) Falling asleep so late means he doesnt wake up unit 4.30 - 5.00 which is too late. I know he still needs his nap, because if he misses it he is so grumpy.
I have noticed nap time has been a disaster ever since daylight saving came in.

Today when I was eating at McDonalds with my spouse I saw the weirdest thing. These four high school kids around 15-17 years of age came in. They seemed to be typical teenagers except for one of the girls had a baby pacifier in her mouth. It was attached to her shirt like a toddler would have. She only took it out once for like a second in the twenty minutes we were there, and it was obviously a real paci. When she talked she just kind of shifted it around a little bit, and it severally muffled her speech. We've never seen anything like that and it made us wonder if this is what happens when parents do not parent. We're interested in any feedback.

My daughter is almost three. My husband and I have gone from "definitely no more kids" to "well, maybe one more...". We're both thinking about it, neither of us is pushing for it.

The thing is we are happy with our daughter but sometimes she's hard to handle, typical toddler stuff of course, and we're worried that with two kids we'll be tearing our hair out day and night.

Those of you with two or more kids, how much more challenging is two than one?
