I have 5 kids of my own and am not willing to get pregnant again and want to get foster kids. I am not sure where to start. Does anyone know how to begin the process or any web sites of info so i can research and or begin any training or education to become a foster parent.

Like the other answers, DHS is a good start. We did foster care and then adoption, best bet is to ask around or look on the web in your state and find a foster /adoption company. They will help you get certified, classes, CPR training, orientation etc... We chose a company after reviewing their literature. Found them to be alot more helpful than local human services just because of time and communication. Best of luck to you in your new adventure. You will come across some odd stuff, but there are alot of kids out there and they just want security ,feeling of love and belonging somewhere.

Contact your local Department of Child Services. A foster parent, a good foster parent is hard to find. Please be the best foster parent you can be to the child or children that God puts in your care. These children are very special and do not deserve what life has thrown at most of them, at the hands of incapable, unwilling or just uncaring adults. May God bless you in this endeavor.

Division Of Children and Family Services DCFS or Child Protective Services, CPS. just look it up along with your area. I have a DCFS in my town. they get you hooked up with classes and help you acheive you foster liscense. once you have this you will be assigned with a social worker and they will be the ones to call you to place children. however you get a heavy background search, urine analysis, evaluations by a pscologist among others. ood luck and please help the children that come your way with all the love you can muster.

Call your local Department of Social Services.
Tell them what you want.
Each state has different procedures.
We had to go to training, recieve certification and have a home evaluation before getting any kids assigned.
